Zelma Isaacs, an Indian wom an, pleaded guilty to smashing a plate glass window in the City shine parlor near Sixth and Main streets Thursday evening and was sentenced in police court to 30 days in jail and a $15 fine, according to police rec ords.. The complaint was signed by Willie Denison, owner of the shop, who estimated damage at $63. Claude Williams and Frank King, employed there at the time, said that the woman was causing disturbance in the place before several customers. When they tried to quiet her, she went out side, got a trash can from the alley, threw it through the win dow and left in a taxi. OSC PICTURES SHOWN . Carter, brother of the first man from Klamath county to be killed in service, has been accepted by the navy and was swonv in- at' Portland yesterday. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Carter Sr., of 2524 Crest street. ... Carter's brother, Paxton, a veteran of eight years' service with the navy, was killed at Pearl 'Harbor December 7, when a Jap Bomb dropped through the funnel of the USS Arizona, exploding the magazine and sinking the vessel. ,- Carter enlisted with the navy here on Pearl Harbor day, but his application was held up on account of a minor physical de fect. For the past two months he has been concentrating his efforts on correcting the condi tion. Word of his acceptance, received by the local recruiting station, indicates that he is off to a good start toward realizing his ambition to avenge the death of his brother. .
