A. DeNmilt of 1415 Oregon avenue at a prettily appointed wedding at Sacred Heart church at nine o'clock in the morning, Saturday, July the eighteenth. Reverend Denis Shecdy performed the ceremony. The bride wore a white taf fetta finger-tip veil and car ried an orchid on a white prayer book, from which fell white satin ribbons with aprays of maiden hair fern. Following the ceremony, a wedding luncheon was held in the Pelican party room with the following guests present: Mr. and Mrs. Oscar DeNault, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. DeNault, Mr. and Mrs. August Andrieu, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Andrieu and son Raymond, Mr. Regis Andrieu, Miss Mary Rose DeNault, Miss Julia DeNault, Miss Annabell DeNault, Miss Joyce DeNault, Miss Norma DeNault and Reverend Denis Sheedy. The bride was graduated from Merrill high school with the class of 1933 and attend ed the Interstate Business col lege in Klamath Falls. Mr. DeNault, who had lived In Klamath Falls since 1939, enlisted in the air corps last September and is now sta tioned at Moody Field, Ga, from which he was having a fifteen day furlough. The young couple left for the south on Sunday, July the nineteenth, where Mrs. De Nault plans to live at Valdos ta, Ga., near Moody Fjeld. MISS BAKER IS COMPLIMENTED AT DESSERT BRIDGE Mrs. J. Truman Runyan complimented Miss Elizabeth Baker with a dessert bridge at her home on California ' avenue on Wednesday night, July the twenty-second. The affair was a miscellaneous shower for Miss Baker, whose marriage to Mr. L. Orth Sise more will be an event of Tuesday, August the fourth. Wine and Miss Anna Mae Sharpe, both of Ashland, are to be married here Sunday in a formal church wedding. The cere mony will be read at t w o thirty o'clock at the Klamath Revival center, at the corner of Mitchell street and Shasta way, by the Rev. E. J. Wine, pastor of the United Brethren church in Ashland and also the father of the groom. Miss Sharpe is the attrac tive daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Sharpe of Concord, North Carolina, She attended the Apostolic Bible school in Bradenton, Florida, for three years just prior to her com ing to Ashland, where she has been co-pastor of the Ashland Tabernacle along with her sis ter for the past year. She and her sister have excellent voices.' and have sung here several times, thus making many friends in this city. Mr. Wine is the son of Rev. and Mrs. E. J. Wine of 1116 Iowa street, Ashland, and is well-known among the young er set though he has just lived there a few years. His native home is Nampa, Idaho, but he received his early schooling in Sunnyside, Wash ington, and was a member of the graduating class of 1939 of Ashland high school. Young Mr. Wine then entered upon his study for the min istry at the Intermountain Christian institute in Boise, Idaho. He attended there for one year, and finished h i s ministerial studies at the Apostolic Bible school. The young couple have not made known their immediate plans, but will reside in Ash : land at the present time. Kennell-EUis Leaque of Voters Gains New Members Campaign to Interest More Women Is Extended To Friday, July the Thirty-first Much interest is being shown in the Klamath County Leaggue of Women Voters' membership campaign, according to Mrs. B. C. Johnston, membership chairman. "More than ever women are aware of the contribution of the National League of Women Voters in the field of good government, and in urging active participation on the part of citizens in better ing our nation," says Mrs. Johnston. Thirty-three new members have been added to the mem bership list this week; these. together with the seventy members who are renewing, u: - ,un 4ui to over one hundred to date. Owing to the fact that so many women are out of town, it has been decided to hold the membership drive over into next week, until Friday, July the thirty-first. In the past the Klamath League of Women Voters has held only one general meeting monthly, but this year the board of directors is laying plans for two monthly meet ings, one, of which will be held at night for the conveni ence of many of the mem bers. The League of Women Voters is a completely non partisan organization, it was emphasized in connec t i o n with the membership drive. It never endorses candidates, but does endorse measures. Non-voters are urged by the league to become voters, and the league furnishes informa tion concerning qualifications of candidates for offices, and information on the stands these candidates take toward measures the league wants carried into action, Mrs. Den nis stated. E. Den nis, was honored at a shower given by Mrs. Henry H. Holt on Thursday night, July the twenty-third. Miss Gnlycan, formerly of North Dakota, hns been on the Hillside hospital nursing staff for the past several months, and Lieutenant Den nis is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Dennis Sr., of 103 Pina street. They will be married in i lie chapel at Fort McAr thur. Sail Pedro, California, August thi! second, and plan to make their home in Los An geles. The affair took the form of a linen and personal shower, with the red, white and blue motif used in the decorations and hand woven flags adorn ing the cake which was a part of the refreshments. West in Louisville, Ky. Miss Dorothy Teed becam the bride of Lieutenant Don L. West on Saturday, July th eighteenth, at a military wed ding lit the Methodist church at Louisville, Ky., it has been learned hero. 1 Miss Teed is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Teed of Klamath Falls and Lieuten ant West Is the son of Mr. and Mrs. L.-A. West of the Mer rill highway. Miss Teed left here on July the thirteenth, going by train to Louisville where she met Lieutenant West, who had recently been graduated from officers' training school In tha armored division and sta tioned at Fort Kentucky. Both young people war graduated from Klamath Un ion high school, after which Lieutenant West attended Oregon State college before he enlisted In March, 1841. Miss Teed was employed at the Reed Tractor company prior to her departure, RELATIVES EXCHANGE VISITS Mrs. Arden Douglas and son, Terry, of 1845 Metros street spent three weeks In southern California recently visiting with relatives and friends. The Douglas family moved hero from Ontario, California, In January of this year and Mr. Douglas Is assist ant manager of the local WesU crn Auto Supply company. Mrs. Douglas and Terry ac companied Mr. Douglas' par ents and sister, Mrs. G. A, Douglas and Elaine of San Bernardino, Calif., back to Klamath Falls. They cam by way of the Redwood high way, as it was their first trip to northern California and Oregon. While here they enjoyed visits to the surrounding points of Interest, Including Crater lake. They left for their home Thursday of last week. TNT CLUB ENJOYS EVENING WITH MRS. LYNN RASMUSSEN Members of the TNT club were entertained on Wednes day evening by Mrs. Lynn Rasmussen at a dessert bridge Miss Gertrude Toll re ceived first award at the ctos of play, Mrs. LeRoy Carter, second, Mrs. Martha McCol lum, low and Mrs. Leda Gard ner, traveling. Guests of the club were Mrs. Glenn Inman and Mrs. Edward Hickman, Mrs, Carter will preside as the next hostess and will en tertain the club again In two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Hlmrl wrlght arc spending a few more days, in Klamath Falls before returning to tiieir home in Hollywood. They have just returned from Roseburg and Portland.
