OREGON July 24, 1041 Klamath Qludvclt Metal BLf- COMMUNITY mil P HEARS REPORT BLY The Women's Service lociety of the Bly Community church met on Wednesday, July 22, at the home of Mrs. Aaron T. Hoffman. In the absence of the president, Mrs. Walter Camp bell, Mrs. Fred Stone opened the meeting. The roll call was answered with Bible references regarding worship in song and historical anecdotes concerning the old familiar hymns. Mrs. Frank Obenchain completed the mission study book which the group has been reviewing, with pertinent remarks concerning the unity necessary In churches at the present time and the value " of real spiritual exper ience in critical world condi tions. : A feature of the afternoon was the report of Mrs. Jeff Causbie on the Young People s Institute, from which she has just return ed. She stated that there were some 250 young people present and that the behavior and spir- itual tone of the group was espe cially fine. She said the new outlook and vision which her delegates had received far out weighed the financial output. Various members of the group will take charge of services to be announced later and give a full report of their experiences. The project for disposal of the dishcloths was given over to Mrs. Carl Raupach. There will be no church school session on July 26 or August 2 First Presbyterian Church The First Presbyterian church, corner of North Sixth and Pine streets, me city center, holds lis morning worship at 11 o'clock and its evening service at 8 o'clock.. Stanfield is the director of the choir and Mrs. Arthur Hall Denison is the or ganist. This Sunday, during the absence of the regular organist, Mrs. Raymond W. Coopey will be at the console. The morning worship, which is broadcast over KFJ1, opens with the organ prelude "Ase's Death" by Grieg. Following the morning prayer, both unite in singing "Our Father's God to Thee." The special musical num ber will be a -solo, "A Little Prayer" by Hamblen, sung by Mrs. Dick Recder. The choir offertory is 'Schumann' "We Give But Thine Own" and the organ offertory is uricntaie by Cul. The pastor will finish the scries, "Five Great Truths That Have Stood the Shock of Time and War" by speaking on "The Great Question of the Hu man Heart, Immortality." The service closes with the benedic tion, the choir dismissal, Whelp- ton's "Lord Let Us Now De part In Peace," and the organ postlude, "Grand March" by Verdi. The evening worship is- at 8 o'clock and opens with the organ prelude, "Melodic" by Massenet. The offertory is "Serenade" by Schubert. The pastor will speak on "The Work of the Holy Spirit. The service closes with the organ postlude, "Grand March" by Verdi. The Bible school meets at 9:45 a. m. Immediately preceding this a prayer group meets in the pastor's study at 9:40. To this all interested are invited. In school is a class for you. Every effort is being made to maintain all classes in the va rious departments throughout the summer time. The three Christian Endeavor groups meet at 7 in the evening. These include the Intermediates or upper-grade school age, the Seniors or those of high school age, and the Young People proper, or those past high school age. A basket lunch will be served at noon and please bring your plates, cups,- forks and spoons. Coffee and cream will be furnished by Men's club.
