county welfare commission Tues
day to recommend addition of
ono case worker to the county
welfare staff.
Last month, it was reported,
tho bureau received requests for
151 reports In connection with
tho selective service program.
These Investigations mainly
concern applications for defer
ments. Tho welfare bureau in
vestigates the validity of a defer
ment claim.
The commission studied the
question of supplying tdbes to
the welfare workers, when it was
reported the rationing board had
rejected an application for tubes.
It is possible for the workers to
get tire recaps, but not tubes, it
was stated.
At a meeting this week, the
rationing board will be asked to
reconsider the application.

Although there will be no CCC
camp at Odell lake this year,
five-man .suppression crew will
be permanently stationed there
for the summer. Members of
this crew include Pat Metke of
Bend, foreman: Stewart Gil
christ; Jay Glatt, Davcy Sump-
ter and Don Carter.
The hexagonal cells of bees
and wasps are not planned that
way, but are cylinders under
