CHICAGO, Jan. 13 WV
Grain futures prices broke
sharply today and little rally
ing power appeared at any time,
although a fair demand was
credited to milling interests on
declines.
Wheat at times broke as
much as three cents a bushel
while corn was off more than
a cent and soybeans declined
more than three cents.
The prime factor In the mar
ket was the progress of price
control legislation and traders
described the market trend as
an about face from yesterday's
action when most quotations
were at the best levels for sev
eral years.
Closing prices were at or near
the lowest levels of the session.
.Wheat, finished 2V4 to 2
cents under Monday's close,
May $1.30-, July $1.32 Vi;
corn was 1 to IK off. May
86H, July 87T4-88; oats de
clined 1 to 1, rye 1H to 2
and soybeans 2S to 3 cents.
Lard was 2V4 cents lower to 5
cents higher.
