Goddard, a resi dent of this city for the lust 11 ycura, passed away at tho fumlly residence on Saturday morning, June 7. The deceased was a native of Freeport, III., and waa ngud 72 years 8 months and 26 days when called. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Georg lanna Miller of Great Falls, Mont., a son M. T. Goddard of Portland; two brothers. F. D. Goddard of Portland. Ore., and J. B. Goddurd of Los Angeles; two sisters, Mrs. Miriam Bum stead and Mra. Katherlne Mac Innls, both of Portland; two nephews, Edward P. Goddard and Benjamin J. Goddard, both residents of this city; three nieces, Mrs. Rosmond A. Bruns of White Horse, Calif., Mias Mir iam Goddard and Miss Maxlne Goddard of Klamath Falls; a sistcr-ln-law, Mrs. Dora God dard of this city. BARTHOLOMEW DUNLEA Bartholomew Dunlea, for the past 25 years a prominent resi dent of this community, passed away June 7, 1041, following a very brief Illness. Mr. Dunlea, who for some time, has been as sociated with Montgomery Ward and company, Klamath Falls, resided nt 1405 Delta, street. He was born In Totirccn Glonuhco, Cork county, Ireland, on Sept. 11, 1887, and was aged S3 years, 10 months and 26 days ot the time of his passing. Besides his wife, Mrs. Anne Prico Dunlea, he Is survived by five brothers, Dan, Jelcmia, nnd Eugene Dun lea of Ireland; nnd John and Timothy Dunlea of Klamath Falls, and by three sisters, Julln and Elllo Dunlea and Sarnh Buckley, all of Ireland. Weekend trippers were cheered by the good news and hoped summer had actually arrived. The mercury fell to a chilly 37 degrees in the early Saturday morning hours, and a north wind added an almost winter-like touch. Clear skies and warmer sunshine promised to fulfill the weatherman's prediction as the day wore on. Maximum Satur day was 55. Indian Transferred To Medford Jail On Assault Charge Charged with assault with a dangerous weapon in connection with the knifing of Ivan O'Neil, Shasta Indian, on the night of May 29, Capron L. Ball, 16. member of the Klamath Indian tribe, was transferred from Klamath Falls to Medford Thurs day night by Paul Hanlin, United States deputy marshall. Ball was placed in the Jackson county jail pending further ac tion in the case. According to Information re ceived here, Ball is accused of using a knife on O'Neil, inflict ing wounds on the chin, and also beating him with a gun to the extent that O'Neil suffered a broken arm and other injuries. O'Neil Is now in the county Jail charged with possession of liquor. He was arrested on South Sixth street June 5. The charge has nothing to do with the as sault case, officers said. Ball appeared before US Com missioner Bert C. Thomas and bound over to the grand jury. He was unable to provide $2500 bail. Ball is the brother of Joseph, now serving a life sent ence for murder. Those presented on this oc casion were Eleanor Simmers, Dale Klein, Phillip- Hortort, Karl Jackson, Helen Jackson, Johnny Elliott, Connie Hunt, Ted Medford, Sally Block linger, Mary Alice Block lingor, Dorothy Howry, Helen Howry, Nancy Gaylord, Dean Allen and Hazel Frymlre. In addition to these stu dents, Mr, Apollo presented two of his piano students from Medford, Miss Nancy Swem and Miss Phoebe Swem, whose fine technique and coordination of expres sion, phrasing and touch were most excellent. Miss Poebe Swem is also an accordion student of Mr. Apollo and played "El Relicaris" with ease and expression. Ethel May Skinner, eight-year-old violin pupil of Mr. Harry Borel, delighted the audience by her playing. She was accompanied by Connie Hunt, eleven years old. Guest soloist for the after noon was Mrs. Miller E. Cooper who sang "Gae to Sleep" by Fisher and "Annie Laurie," both numbers prov ing exceptionally lovely for her contralto voice. Low, wife of the sheriff, and her sister, Mrs. Ralph Ballentyne, have left for Alberni, B. C, to attend funeral services for their father, Daniel Clarke. Mr. Clarke passed away Fri day morning.
