Victor Johnson, county agent, who was present to make achievement award-, announced that within 10 days the ex ten slon service will appoint a full time 4 1! club leader for Lake county to handle all boys' and girls' 411 club work In tho county. A certificate of achievement was awarded to last year's wood working club, whom president was Raymond Padget and whose members finished their projects 100 per cent. Club charters were presented to the Busy Dees, the Vernon sewing club of which Donna Thill la president, and to the Vernon Handicraft club, tho woodworking club of which Donald Blnlock Is president. On behalf of the Lnkcvlew branch of the First National Bank of Portland, Johnson pre sented fifth year pins to Flor ence Padget, Itaymond Padget und Florence Reed: third year pins to Dorothy Mnddock and Lois Maddock; first year pins to Virginia Maddork and Lois Thill. Second year cards from tho county were presented to Donald Blnlock, Sue Reed, and Donna Thill. The work on display during tho afternoon included book cases, cuf'ec tables, footstools, flower stands made by members of the woodworking club; pil low tops and luncneon cloths made by the girls In the sewing club; wall placques. snap shot album covers, and bookends woodburncd and painted; and comb cases, bookmarks, bag gage tags, and other leather- work articles. I. clubhouse was the scene of social activities Friday after noon, when members of the Civic Improvement club spon sored a silver tea, 'he proceeds from which went Into the club treasury. Lovely spring flowers were used about the main club room, sdme of the blooms com ing from local gardens and many of them having been brought from Grants Pass this week by Mrs. Lee Denton for the occasion. A reception com mittee including Mn Ray Loos ley and Mrs. Frank Denton greeted the guests upon their arrival. About 30 were present at the tea. Entertainment for the after noon consisted of an interesting program, and life and song com positions of Stephen C. Foster. Mrs. Frank Denton narrated the storey of Foster's lire.
