Transfers of around 300,000 hares again were among the lowest for a five-hour stretch In nearly six months and com pared with better than 450,000 the day before, 1 Other favorable performers the greater part of the time were Sears Roebuck, Montgom ery Ward, American Telephone, Du Font, Allied Chemical, Union Pacific, Pennsylvania, Douglas Aircraft, Glenn Martin and General Electric, ' .In the faltering division were U.". Profit taking, evening up sales for the holidays and selling stimulated by weakness of corn and rye unsettled the wheut pit. This was offset, however, by sup port that came from mills or was inspired by early firmness of se curities and additional crop com plaints from the southwest. The threatening international situa tion, with reports of troop move ments in the Balkans and pres ence of German "aid" soldiers in Spain, unsettled the market. Wheat closed unchanged to Ic lower compared with yesterday, May 80l-81c, July 751-Ic; corn 1-lc down, May 601c, July 601c; oats unchanged to 1c down. Australian Mer inos were in good demand at steady prices. Interest In domes tic wools was chiefly in the new clipped wools being offered for delivery in July. Offerings of I spot domestic wools were being very limited, but a few sales of fine territory wools were closed at firm to slightly higher prices, North Dakota In 1030 led the nation as the healthiest state with a death rate of 8.4 per 1000 population, according to the census bureau.
