New Year's Plans
Patriotic Theme Decided Upon For Annual Danc

parties will be given before
the dance by members of the
organization.

a delightful dinner donee scheduled for Sunday, December
the twenty-second at Cal-Ore tavern. Lunching at the Pelican

Library club have received
word that Groves' and Fin
ley's Manikin theatre which
was scheduled to appear hero
at the January the thirteenth
program, will not be shown
In this city due to the Illness
of a member of the organiza
tion. In place of the manikin
thcotro there will be the regu
lar Llbray club program on
that day with a special show
arranged by residents of the
city including all interested
club members. Details will be
announced later.
All persons having a spe
ciality, such as wood carving,
wood work, design, arrange
ments of flowers, silver or
other metal work, in fact any
thing that would go toward
making an interesting display,
Is asked to plan to show ar
ticles to make the show a
success.
Friends regret to learn of
the departure of Mr. and Mrs.
Otto Langslet and their two
children for Payette, Idaho,
where .they will reside per
manently. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Coffey
and children are now making
their home In Salem.

Plans have been completed
for a dinner dance to be given
at Cal-Ore tavern Sunday eve
ning, December the .twenty
second, by members of Alpha
Chi Omega's local alumnao
club. Active members from
the various schools with their
escorts will be special guests,
and all members of this chap
ter are expected to join in the
first large affair since th
organization of the group.
Table decorations will b
exceptionally gay with scarlet
and olive green, Alpha Chi
Omega colors, which will fit
appropriately into the Christ
mas theme. Mrs. Dean Hous
ton is dinner dance chairman
with Mrs. William Ferguson,
president of the club, ' assist
in g her. Other committee
members are Mrs. Mitchell
Tillotson, Mrs. James Kerns,
and Miss Gale Bratton.

ing this weekend from her
home at Portland to spend the
holidays as the guest of Dr.
and Mrs. C. B. Cassel. Mrs.
Wilmot is an aunt of 'Mrs.
Cassel.
