To Portland Mr. and Mrs. Earl Humphrey, who have been visiting In Klamath Falls at the Rome of Humphrey's mother, Mrs. George Humphrey of Pine street, plan to leave for Port land on Thursday to spend sevo eral days as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Keller and seeing the Rose festival. They will return here before leaving for their home in Los Angeles. Picnic J uveniles of the Neighbors of Woodcraft will - have a picnic at Moore park Saturday. Committee Named Those in charge of entertainment at this month's meeting of the Eastern Star Social club at the Masonic temple Friday afternoon at 1:45 o'clock will be Mrs. C. W. Horni brook, Mrs. Jacob Held, Mrs. Al frcda Stelnmctz and Mrs. Frank Ira White. All members of the club and of the order are in vited to attend. Visitors Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Roberts are visitors here from Twin Falls, Ida., guests of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Slater. On Friday the Roberts and Slaters plan to leave on a two weeks' trip which will take them to Los Angeles and other southern points. Improving Ed Cardwcll, well known Klamath county resident, was able to' return home to his place near Merrill after receiv ing medical treatment at Klam ath Valley hospital. Chnse spent $135.75 in his successful campaign for the democratic re-nomination. Sheriff Lloyd L. Low spent $195 in the campaign that won him republican re-nomination. Another incumbent. Clerk Mae K. Short, reported expendi tures of $68.35 in her success ful campaign for the democratic nomination for the office she now holds. Four special cars will be used to haul the detachment, which will consist of six officers and 126 men. The train will leave at 8:40 p. m. J. D, Ritchie, traveling freight agent, and W. E. At a depth of 250 feet, drillers struck a gas Kupply that would be ample for a dally production of five tons of dry Ice but they Intend to reach the bottom of the sandstone formatloon before a final estimate of the capacity Is made. The gas from the partly-completed hole rises Into the air to a height of 10 feet and Uthla water bubbles out In a column three feet high, drillers said.
