Mrs. C. C. Kelley, president 1 of the women's group, an nounced the program for the year, and the various chair men and committee members. . Chairman for the opening day on Friday was Mrs. Les lie Rogers, assisted by the re ception committee including Mrs. Charles G. Hovey, Mrs. E. P. Brosterhous, Mrs. La fayette Stevens, Mrs. Martin Swanson, Mrs. George H. Menyman, and Miss Ada Chrlstopherson. Mrs. A. E. Stonehouse and Mrs. Charles V. Rugh arranged the decora ' tlons. Seventy women gathered at gaily decorated tables for luncheon. Cards followed with high score held by Mrs. Harry Bridges, low by Mrs. R. R. Proebstel, and guest prize went to Mrs. Rugh. A meeting is scheduled for Friday, April the nineteenth, with the following program: third flight, beginning tour nament, select partners. Sec ond flight, spring handicap qualifying. First flight, a 54 hole derby. Play 18 holes, post scores. Committee: Mrs. Harry Panning, Mrs. Harry Weimar, Mrs. William Grove. VISITOR ENTERTAINED IN BAY, AREA A number of interesting af fairs were given this past week for Mrs. James W. Smith in Fort Mason, San Francisco, following her ar rival there from Klamath Falls. Mrs. Smith was accom panied by her young daugh ter, Anna Christina, and her mother, Mrs. J. C. Perry of Algoma, with whom she had visited since the first of the year. The party continued to Los Angeles where they met Cap tain Smith -who arrived Thurs day from . Corrigdor, The Philippines. . Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Pauley have returned to their home on ' Roseway drive after a business1 and pleasure trip to ' Portland, where they spent several days. MILDRED ANIf KESSLER, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wend llng J. Portland Visitor Mrs. Heffner To Cec ture On Flowers in Klamath Women of the city Interest ed in the study of flowers, and flower arrangement, are looking forward to visit which Mrs. Daniel Heffner of Portland will pay to Klamath Falls on Monday and Tues day, April the twenty-second and twenty-third. Any women in the city may attend. Paper , bag lunches will be brought. Mrs. Heffner, who is state flower show chairman of the Oregon State Federation of Garden clubs, will lecture on horticultural judging, and ex aminations on that subject will be given to anyone who wishes. Later Mrs. Heffner will lecture on design in color and flower arrangement, fol lowed by the arrangement of flowers. Discussion and criti cism will follow. The meetings are called for ten o'clock both mornings. Mrs. Heffner will be the guest of Mrs. Hugh Campbell during her stay in Klamath Falls. . .v. ; Greeted by many old friends in Klamath Falls' is -Dr. Buford Hargus of New York, home after several years in the middle-west and east. Dr. Hargus is spending three or four weeks with his mother, Mrs. W. O. Smith of Conger avenue, and will enter private practice at Twin Pines sanitarium near San Francisco later this spring. Medford Sojourners are making plans for a dance to be given May the eighteenth at the Chateau near that city. Members of the Klamath Falls Sojourners club are invited to attend. Hum phrey, former Klamath Fall resident MEMBERS OF ART CENTER TO MEET MONDAY Mrs. Walter Brown and Mrs. Dwight Gilchrist will act as hostesses to members of the Art Center association at Mrs. Brown's home on Pa cific Terrace, Monday evening, April the fifteenth. The eve ning will be informal with discussion centering on plans for the proposed Art Center. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Pey ton have been visiting with relatives and friends in Port land this week, motoring north after attending the wedding in Eugene on Sun day of Mr. Ralph Peyton and Miss Katherine Hosford. Miss Kessler Bride Of Tuesday Morning Ceremony Takes Place at Eight o'Clock Nuptial Mass In Sacred Heart Church Before Many One of iprlng'f loveliest brides was Miss Mildred Ann Kessler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wendllng J. Kessler, whos marriage to Mr. Eugene Myers took place at an eight o'clock nuptial mass read Tuesday morning at Sacred Heart church. Rev. Timothy Casey was the celebrant The altar was banked with white stock, white carnations and palms, with tall white tapers lighted just before the service. The bride, wearing tradl- Moral white satin, was given In marriage by her father. Her gown was beautifully fashioned with a sweetheart neckline caught at either side by lace medallions on the snug bodice, long sleeves puff ed at the shoulders, and the full gored skirt ending in a long train. A double veil of Illusion net, which the bride wore over her face as she ap proached the altar, was bound at the head by a halo and seed pearls. She carried a Colonial bouquet of rosebuds and sweet peas . Mrs. Frank Kies 'of Port land, cousin of the bride, was the matron of honor. Mrs. M. Donald Drullner of Klamath Falls was the bridesmaid. Both wore Identically fash ioned frocks of taffeta with quilted bolero jackets. Their flowers were Colonial bou quets of brides roses and lilies-of the valley. Mrs. Kiea' frock was of peach taffeta, and Mrs. Drullner wore green blue. Both wore small wreaths of blossoms in their hair. Mr. Howard Myers of Se attle, brother of the groom, was best man. Ushers were Mr. M. Donald Dru liner, and Mr. Joseph Der rah. Servers at the altar were Stephen Kessler, brother of the bride, and Joseph Ma honey. Soft music, sung during the ceremony, was directed by Sister Mary Paschal es and blending of the young voices of the academy students was beautiful. Lohengrin's wed ding march, and Mendels sohn's recessional were play ed on the organ. . Following the ceremony, witnessed by several hundred friends of the young couple, a wedding breakfast was served in the blue room of the Willard hotel. The long table was centered with a flat crys tal bowl of white stock and pale pink carnations with tall white tapers in crystal candle sticks on either side. Covers were laid for twenty-eight guests. Tea Given Thursday Mrs, Macartney Host ess to Concert Group At Home An interesting affair of the past week was the tea given at the home of Mrs. Ralph R. Macartney on Washington street for members of the Klamath Basin Cooperative Concert association workers group, the officers and board of directors. The tea was an event of Thursday afternoon from four o'clock until five o'clock. Pouring, at a tea table center ed with a bowl of white sweet peas were Mrs. George Auxler Myers, wife of the president of the association, and Mrs. Theodore S. Dur ment. Assisting Mrs. Macartney during the afternoon were Mrs. Charles G. Hovey. mem bership chairman, and Mrs. Dayton E. Van Vector, asso ciation secretary. Mr. Hugh Hooks, campaign manager, spoke briefly to the group. ding cake, later served by the groom's mother. Mrs, Kessler, the bride's mother, wore a frock of dove grey with pink lace and a corsage , of rosebuds. The groom's mother wore a navy blue tailored coat with an apple green dress and a rose bud corsage. For traveling the bride chose a dressmaker suit of black with delft blue acces sories and a gardenia corsage. Her small hat was of black with a blue grosgraln ribbon brim. Following a wedding trip to San Francisco the young couple will make their home on Alameda street. Among the out-of-town guests was Miss Dorothy Wiederhold of Portland, cousin of the bride. Mr. Myers is the son of Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Myers of Reno, Nevada. His parents were here for the ceremony. ir a-) Vht It. -V MRS. LAMM IS HOSTESS TO SCOUT COUNCIL' Miss Esther Ansell of San Francisco, a member of the national Girl Scout staff, and members of the Girl Scout council were guests of -Irs. W. E. Lamm of Modoc Point at luncheon Saturday at the Willard hotel. Plans are being made for the . annual spring Inaugural ball to be given for Elks and their ladles at the Elks tern plo on Saturday evening, April the twenty-seventh.
