PAGE TEN THE NEWS AND THE HERALD. KLAMATH FALLS. OREGON March 21, 1040 Matitka tOfil and SfiOfU Spring arrived Wednesday, of flclallr dr w'T everywhere, because of Febru ary's 29th dr. but we In the Klamath country know Spring arrived here a lot aarliar than that. A VERY clever "special" Is now on at Currin s For Drugs. ... A package that looks like a book . . . And is titled "A Bedtime Beauty Story" by DuBarry ... In it are the three Du Barry preparations for nightly care of your com plexion, and, incidentally, they aren't samples, but in regular size containers. INSIDE the cover is the "Pre face to Beauty," which tells you how to use the preparations . . . First, the DuBarry Cleansing Cream, then an application of DuBarry Skin Freshener, and lastly DuBarry Special Skin Cream for overnight . . . All three are in this box that looks like a book. THE "Preface" also suggests that you use the "beauty angle" treatment, which was made fam ous in the DuBarry salon in Mew York ... To take the treat ment, you lie is a reclining posi tion for 15 minutes, with your feet higher than your head . . . This stimulates circulation to the face naturally, working from within while the DuBarry prep arations work from without. THIS bedtime "book" is only $1.05 . . . Which is a real bar gain, because the three prepar ations ordinarily would cost you $3.50. YOU needn't M. 7 - ' worry about spots on the IjOEfc: ft tablecloth if you : use x n e new "Magic Weave1 cloth that I saw at Garcelon's. It acts a lot like oilcloth, but it isn't ... If you didn't know, you'd probably say It was heavy linen. . xmb new tablecloth is per manently waterproofed and stain-resist ing ... It won t crack, chip, peel, or dry out like oil cloth ... To clean it, Just wipe with a damp cloth. GARCELON'S has a big selec tion of various colors and de signs in the 54 by 54 inch size. ... At $1.98. YOU'LL want to use "Magic Weave" tablecloths lor breakfast and lunch always . . . And even for family dinners. WITH Spring in tthe air as well as on I the calendar, Easter won't feel right un- Jess you nave a cor sage of living flowers on your new costume . . ,. That s why wandered the boy friend past The Flower Basket, (next to Louie Polin's store) and let him glimpse the gorgeous corsages. AND have you seen those' un usual yellow calla lilies that are becoming increasingly popular lor homes at Eastei time? , They bring sunshine right into the house and give an air of alive-ncss that is most appro priate for Easter . . . The Flower Basket has them. Catceoni ALL TOO often, the fur coats sold in cities the size of Klamath Falls aren't much better looking than the sewed-to-gether animal skins that Eskimos wear. . , And nobody can really blame some of the gals around here for buying their fur coats in big cities. BUT the end of last January I had my eyes opened . . . And saw what really can be done with furs in the way of styling. . . . That was when Rose Ann Sitkin of Los Angjles brought a number of her beautiful fur coats to Long's. THIS week Lawrence Sitkin came back to Long's with Spring and Fall furs . . . Chubbies so pert and jaunty you'll fall in love with all of them . . . Finger tip length jackets that are clev erly made to give you slimness. . . . Scarfs so beautiful they make anyone look like a mil lion dollars. INCIDENTALLY, you can have any of these fun laid away until Fall at no extra charge . . . I've heard that all furs are going up in price next Fall, so it might be an economy measure to buy now! YOU can see these gorgeous furs at Long s. mi Beauty Shop, ; IF YOU haven't tried ,,, Eva Rae hair bcautifier and tint, you h a v e a . thrill coming ... It re- stores life to your hair ss while it brings back the original color that sun and wind and just plain carelessness have taken away . . . It's a rinse, not a dye, l that is used at the Medical- Dental Beauty shop. " THE manufacturer of Eva Rae hair bcautifier works on the theory that "neglect, not age, dulls your hair." . . . And there's a lot of truth in that one sentence. , ' AT C u r r i n'l For Drugs this week, both Vance Vaupel, the man ager, and Tnelma Davis, the cosmetic consultant. were thrilled almost beyond words . . .-Because Currin's has just been appointed the drug store headquarters in Klamath Falls for the nationally famous Revlon nail and hand prepara tions. - . The store has a complete stock of all the Revlon products . . , Nail polish, polish remover, cu ticle treatment, and creams and lotions for the care and treat ment of the hands. CURRIN'S is the only drug store in Klamath Falls author ized to carry Revlon prepara tions . . . And I don't blame Vance and Tnelma for getting excited about it City ItusinesH ' A city employe was on his knees painting an orange safety zone in the center of Main street at Fourth, Wednesday . . . While he painted, a business man stopped in the middle of cross ing the street, stepped inside the orange lines, and started ask ing questions . . . "That must be fast-drying paint?" . . . "Yup," answered the painter. . . Cars whizzed by on both sides . . . Tver think you'd get run over out here in the traffic?" . . . 'Nope," still slapping on the orange paint . . . Like your job?" . . . "Yup 'n nope" ... So the business man gave up and finished crossing the street. ISuetutei Jlail C. OF C. MEMORIAL ... PHOENIX. . Arli.. (P The junior chamber of commerce conducted a kangaroo court at the recent rodeo, fining all who appeared on the streets without cowboy costumes. One tourist, brushing away a tear, explained ho had Just lost a son and would give $100 to the chamber's Christmas fund as a memorial. The treasurer's latest report shows a $101.34 reduction in the fund. Tho visitors worthless check came back, and the bank charged $1.34 for handling it.
