proving at Hillside hospital where

accident early Monday morning
when their machine crashed into
a switch engine on the Southern
Pacific spur at the north end of
the Sixth etreet viaduct. Beal
suffered head Injuries and Bellon
had a cut knee.

Brady of Forest Grove, Ore.. Is
visiting at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. R. C. Hoskinson In Home
dale. She will leave Sunday tor
Morgantown, V. Va., where she
will visit her brother, Virgil Lilly,
teacher of botany In Morgantown
university. She will be his guest
during the holiday season.

received from Mrs. Katharine G.
Nelson, appointed census taker
in Klamath district, now in Port
land studying at the school. Mrs.
Kelson says the training la in
tensive and she is working hard
before returning to Klamath Falls.

MARY ALICE POWELL
Mary Alice Powell, a resident
of Klamath Falls for the past
six months, pissed away In this
city on Tuesday,- December 12.
at 7:15 p.. m. The deceased was
a native of Hopklnsville, Ky., and
waa aged 78 years and 20 days
when called. She wss a member
ot the Klamath temple. She Is
survived by two sons, Wlllism
Bacon of this city, and Henry of
Gladewaler. Texas; one daugh
ter, Mrs. Mary Lanier, of Long
Beach, Calif.; one granddaugh
ter, Mrs. John Kerlln of Klam
ath Falls; also nine other grand
children; one brother, Joe Stur

Howard Soule Abbey, a resi
dent of Klamath Falls for the
past 20 years, passed away In
this city on Wednesday, Decem
ber 13. The deceased wss a na
tive ot Cloud county, Kas., ad
was aged 42 years 4 months and
1 days when called. He was
a member of the Baptist church.
