CLIIIGMAII TO
MEET: COIN
FLIP SLATED
Perhaps because lie clamored
hardest for the chance to meet a
boy who seems to have ring appeal
among grapplers. Toots Estes will
meet scowling Bob Kenaaton In
tha main event of next week's
armory card.
Katea waa only one of three eli
gible matmen who pestered Pro
moter Mack Llllard for an oppor
tunity to take on the big ex-Gold
Hill muscle mangier. But the de
cision finally went to Toots over
Otis Cllngman and Sailor Dick
Trout, all of whom have demanded
a chance to square oft agalnat tbe
formidable ex-world Junior heavy
weight tltleholder.
With Estes getting the nod,
fani will be assured of a match
tbe outcome of which would be
bard to predict. Kstea will be out
weighed nearly 20 pounds by tho
gigantic marine but aays he will
depend on speed and endurance to
wear tbe former world champ
down.
After tho match laat week In
which Kenaiton gave Dick Trout
a severe beating with his danger
ous uold Hill "swivel" and his
even more devastating Gold Hill
"crab" hold, fana were split on
the opinion aa to whether or not
the swivel hold Is legal. Some con
lend that Kenaston's huge hands
and forearms are applied In a
choke when ho uses the neck
twister, while others contend that
tbe pressure Is all on the chin and
perfectly legitimate.
Four stellar performers have
been signed for the remaining
two bouts of the evening's pro
gram; In fact thoy are so accus
tomed to headlining the card that
Pfomoler Llllard will tosa a coin
to determine which pair takes the
mat In the curtain-raiser. ,
Otis Cllngman has been signed
to meet Sailor Dlok Trout In a
matcb which pita two men of tbe
aame wrestling calibre. In tbe
other seml-wlndup. Bobby Wagner
will be billed against Bulldog
Jackson.
The latter bout will give the
cagey easterner a cbanco to prove
the fans' contention that he la one
of the cleverest, wrestler! to ap
pear boro In a long time. Equal In
weight to the venerable Yukon
wrlat-twlater, Wagner should bo
ablo lo give tho Portland wrestler
a busy evening.. . .,
Albany Meets
Sllverton In .
Baseball Final
SILVERTON, July 21 UP
Glenn Elliott struck out 15 men
and held Hills Creek to six bits
last night as Albany battled Its
way into the final of the state
semi-pro baseball tournament by
beating the Creekmen,' 8-2.
. Albany will meet the Sllverton
Red Sox In the first final game
Saturday. Because Sllverton is
undefeated whereas Albany haa
lost one game, the Albany club
must win twice to get the cham
pionship. Albany won-the game In the
fifth when five runa were scored.
Two walks, three alnglea and Mc
clain's double, coupled with Ora
vec's theft of home did the damage.

The Cblcagoans, In case you've

tbe runner-up Boston Red Sox.
Until two days ago the Sox

The second consecutive one

four neatly executed double playa.
Tbe Yankeea are at it again.
The champions took No. 8 In a
row from the St. Louis Browns
by 2-1 yesterday in a game that
waa not quite as close as It sounds.
Red Rufilng'a four-bit pitching,
for his 13th win of the year, was
more impressive than the tact tbe

to bust loose any minute.
Bobby Estalella helped Wash

aweep ot tbe aeries over tbe De

home-run-in the eighth with a
mate aboard. Four-base blows by
Hsnk Greenberg, Earl Avertll and
Roy Cullenbine couldn't match. In
effectiveness, tbe Estalella round

In the other American league

had to pitch himself out of a lot
of trouble before he came up with
a 3-2 decision over the stubborn
Philadelphia Athletics.
Tbe National league had only
two gamea to offer but both were
Important In the general scheme
of things.
The Pittsburgh . Pirates, not
feeling a bit sorry tor the bat
tered Giants, Jumped from sixth
to fourth place by virtue of their
8-4 victory over the taped-np Ter

ora down to fifth place. Just a
game and a half out of seventh.
Elble Fletcher of the Pirates
homered In the seventh with two
on base. The defeat was the New
Yorkers' sixth straight, their long
est losing stresk of the campaign.
The Boston Bees offered an un
