I Klamath Billiards 8 Lost River 1 .857 .S.1J .66 .600 .:s .3.1 .285 .142 Weyerhaeuser broke the two way tie tor first place and took the lead In the standings by de feating the Lost River team by a cor of 20 to 9 In the first game of a double-header under the flood lights at Modoc field last night. The Timbermen did practically all of their scoring In the first three innings by counting three times In the first, nine tunes in the second, and six .times in the third. In spite of scoring several times in the late innings, Lost River was unable to overcome the big lead piled up by Weyerhaeuser. ' Stcp pich hit a home run for Weyer haeuser. The second game proved to be the thriller of the evening, when Lowell's came through with a It to 11 victory over the Smoke ag gregation. Smoke seemed to be on the way to a sure win when they scored four In the first and five more in the second to one in each .of. the first and second inn ings for Lowell's. The grocery boys were not to be out-done, how ever, and gave the game an en tirely different complexion when they scored 10 times in the fifth on five hits. Smoke contributed to their own downfall in this frame by piling up six errors. Carlstrom and J Fuller hit for the circuit for Lowell's and Gun ner Peterson poled a homer tor the Smoke. The double-header Friday night will, wind up the, first halt ot the schedule,,' when Elka meet the Caseys in the first game and Low ell's tackles Old Fort in the sec ond 6ne.
