Special recognition was given to Geanne Goeller for her ac complishment in taking first 'place in the second division of the state Poppy Poster Contest, sponsored by the American le gion. Fire Chief Art Bardell an- nounced the names of the pupils who returned the best fire in spection blanks. The boys who returned the most complete blanks are to form the summer junior fire department. The girls 'received honorable mention and a free pass to the Vox theatre, 'Saturday afternoon. Archie Huff, Mills Youth, Pitches Perfect Ball Same Archie Huff, H-year-old pitch er for the Mills grade scnool team in the Senior League, hurl ed a no-hit, no-run contest against Riverside, Thursday aft ernoon. His team won 1-1 to 0. J. W. Peak, director of physi cal education in the city schools, said it was the first time In the history of the league such an event had occurred. Toung Huff considerably aided his team on the way to victory by cracking out a home run in the first inning. He walked but one man and the only other Riverside player to reach first went there automatically when hit by a pitched ball. Mills scored Its 14 runs on six hits. Bob Lelst was catcher for Huff. Roy Son pitched for the losers with Cecil Green catching. DIVORCE FILED.
