BLY ITEMS BLT, Ore. "Oar" Leyva had his knee dislocated while at work with the porcupine crew last week. He returned to work Thursday ot last week. Walter Campbell Is at horns after a recent Illness. The Bsgley and Bailey families accompanied by Rolland McDon ald, Jr., picnicked at Dog lake last Bunday. The Bailey car waa the first car to visit the lake this season. ' Mrs. Csntrall, who haa made her home with her daughter, Mra. Don Holmes tor ths past three years is leaving tor Alturas, Cal., to be with her son and family. Mrs. Les Tlbbetts and Infant daughters left last week tor Portland. They will remain there as Ions as it is necessary for her husbsnd to be there. Mr. Tlbbetts Is receiving treatment at St. Vin cent's hospital tor a severe back injury. Mrs. L. T. Richardson was hostess for Bly Needle club the last meeting in February. In re cent aeaaons there haa been lest latitude InUhe variety ot brims ordained by fashion so that the tine discrimination ot selecting hats to the features haa, more or less, become a neglected art. This Spring however, brims are more diversified ranging from the close-set Homburg to the more expansive "Trooper" shape so that mon can "square off" or elongate the effect ac cording to what hla particular type ot physiognomy demands. Moreover, fashion advises that the one-hat man Is not going to be able to live up to the dress demands ot the season. Suits for spring and summer are very de finitely ot two types; dress or business clothes and sport clothes. In re pairing Income tax reports. County Commissioner Williams was in Bly last week. The Community dance held in Bly was very successful. The 4-H held a motion picture show at Bly school Wednesday night, which was well attended. Mr. L. D. Bailey has taken Everett Lynch's place as 4-H for estry club leader. Doo walker was hurt at Crane mill recently. He received a frac tured shoulder and body bruises and cuts, when a rod caught In the chain and struck him. He was taken to Klamath Falls tor hospital care. Laurana and Anne Hanan were at their home over the week-end. BLY, Ore. Cattle have been branded and worked by Campbell and Owen preparing for ranee season. Oerber cattle were moved from Bly to Langell Valley. The yearlings ot B. K. ranch were moved to the Parker ranch for feeding. Sheep are being care fully tended as lambing time ap proaches. Everett Lynch, who has been district ranger tor Fremont na tional 'orest Is leaving, having been transferred from hore to the Traveling's V I J' toward rough suit fabrics, Sup plementary to this mode there has been developed the patterned hat. Some ot these hats which are made of the softor felts have pat terns super-Imposed right on the felt by a new and more or less secret process and they are quite dressy. Other hats are of rough tweeds and shetlanda and these are not unlike the shooting and country hats ot our English brothers. You'll see more ot them as the sooion advances. Now Colors Are Modish Brown has bocome a very strong favorite with the college man and of course that favorit ism will strongly Influence the younger city man. These are mainly worn for business or dress wear. Very light tones are also fashionable and they are mostly tn grey, green and blue casts. Tans, except In the very lightest ot shades such ss cedar, cream and vellum have retired for the season. ' Game bird mixtures which em brace various' brown, blue-grey and grey-green tones are out standing recommendations ot the hat stylists. Bohemia district ot the Umpqua. His headquarters will be Cottage Orove, C, A, Bennett has been trans terred here from Paisley to take Mr. Lynch's place. ' A farewell party for the Lynch children was held at the school house, grades one to six being In vited. Games were enjoyed from 1 o'clock until after 8 when re freshments were served. After an after noon ot needlework a lap lunch was served by Mrs. Joe Wallls, who was assisted by Mra. Bailey. Meeting waa called and a book of by-laws discussed. Those present were Mrs. Jack Hanan, Mrs. Charles Stump, Mrs. D. O. DeVaney, Mrs. Frank Oben chain, Mrs. Johnston, Mrs. McCol lum, Mrs. MacOulre, Mra. Bagley, Mrs. Bailey, Mrs. Erwln, Mrs. Par ker, Mrs. Richardson and the hostess. Mrs. Frank Obenchaln will entertain the member at her home March 21, Mrs. Dave Campbell Is doing office work at Crane mill. Supervisor and Mrs. Campbell were through Bly last week.
