Former Army Air Corps Head Tells of Profiteering NEW YORK, March 8, 0J.B Brigadier General William Mit chell, resigned, one-time chief of tb rmy air corps, charged be fore the foreign policy associa tion today that "due to the activity of aviation profiteers, the army wa not properly pre pared to carry the mails." "After 1926," Mitchell said, "our air development was turn ed over to the racketeers as It wa during the war, when we put only 100 aircraft in Europe and spent more than $1,000,000, 000." "This small group of people, to whom our air development was turned over after 1926, formed themselves into a clique of pow erful holding companies. They were paid $46,000,000 in mall subsidies and $40,000,000 of this went to one group." Tragic Story of Two Frozen Eskimos Told POINT BARROW, Alaska. March 6, (U.R) A tragio story of two Eskimo seal Hunters frosen to death In the far arctic north Ice pack and critical condition of three other was received here today. A sudden storm broke the Ice after the party had travelled about 10 mile off Foggy Island, east of here, the morning of last December 16. The Eskimos lost their dogs and sleds and the moving Ice Imprisoned one of their party to lie armpits. A rescue party released the hunter. He suffered severely from exposura and his foot was crush ed. Ho was placed in a snow hut built on solid Ice. In attempting to reach shore for aid the bal ance of the party became separ ated, but two finally arrived safely after wandering on tee for several days. The Injured man waa brought ashore by other Eskimos who found two doxen bodies of the original group. ' Woman Sentenced to Life Imprisonment GREENWOOD, Miss., March 6. (UP) Five weeks to the day after she went to trial charged with serving a poisoned highball to Dr. John Preston Kennedy in an alleged Jealons rage ' at bis plan to re-marry his divorced wife, Dr. Sara Ruth Dean today was convicted by a circuit court Jury and aentenced to life im prisonment at "hard lnbor."
