In her discussion ahe told ot the beginning ot the national organi sation and the ralue ot an or ganised association which la re presented by 1S7.00O nurses in the United States. Through the organised efforts t nursing educators effectlre legislation has been brought about which hare raised the atandarda ot the nursing until It la now recognised as one ot the higher professions. Banquet Planned Monday Evening The ladles ot the Missionary Society of the Methodist Episco pal church are giving a banquet Monday evening, March 23. A., proved to be a most delightful meeting. The event was held Wednesday, March IS. The evening was spent In play ing games. A reading was given by Mrs. Grover Ysntis and a talk given by Joseph Peak, physical education directors ot the city schools, on his phase ot work in the schools. The Bert Hall trophy tor the second year was presented to the Pelican city basketball team at this time. Captain Nello Glodanim! accepted the award in behalf of the team, and made a brief talk. Introducing each mem ber of the team to the audience. V. e e V Business Women Plan Next Meeting The next regular meeting ot the Business and Professional Women's club will be held at f:lt Monday evening. March IS, with Mrs. Neal Stewart presiding as hostess. The hook department will have charge ot the program and reports ot the spring style show will be given by various awnnljiM chairmen. Campfire Groups Active During The Past Week The Campfire group of upper grade girla from the Temnnt school held their regular meeting Thursday atlernoon. Thia group has been organised a little more than a month. Misa Margaret Nye, county librarian, was guest at the meeting and talked to the girla about books. At snother meeting Miss Dyer, school nurse, gsve the girls a lesson in First Aid. This group is completing a set ot scrap hooka for the county library and are choosing their names and symbols and beginning work on head bands. With the top ot Hog's Back mount as their destination, five Apeya Campfire ft iris and their guardian went on a hike last Sunday. Among the group were Misa Lillian Voodworlh, guard ian: Catherine Cleghorn, Margar et. Daggett, Let I a Kenyon, Doris Porter and Pearl Jean n Hson. Margaret Young and Elsie Eschbeck entertained members ot the Apeaya group with a St. Pat rick's party March It at the Young home. Games, music and dancing were enjoyed. Aft er a discussion of Campfire health charts and the difficulties of keeping them, there was much planning and rehearsing for the Grand Council Fire to be held Saturday. March !S. at Fremont auditorium. II was decided to hare an extra meeting next Mon day afternoon for the purpose of further rehearsing for the Grand Council Fire.
