the Fourth of July exercises.

of today like to play golf, the
links sport is very different from
baseball in at least one import
ant respect.
The bigger the crowd, the bet
ter the ball game, but big gal
leries are considered a nuisance
and a handicap by competitive
golfers. The biggest golf gallery
I ever saw was at Olympla Fields
last year. About 7,000 people
trailed the swingers, and I re
member how Roland Hancock
cracked on the last three holes
and lost the title, when he be

minded me by contrast of the
