Merritt Kdna and Eugene Merrill. Mr. and Mrs. Dal ton and Miss Louise Dalton. Dr. and Mrs. Stilt, forinor resi dents of Merrill, but now living in Lakoview, were visitors in Merrill this woek. Victor Shuck and Al Baker left last week for Ashland where they took the train for Sacramento and Corning, Calif., for a few weeks' visit with relatives. Mr. Baker's par ents were former residents of .Merrill but are now residents of Wilboa, Cal. Both boys have been riding for horses in the government roundup all summer. Mrs. W. C. Bailey and Donald Bailey spent Wednesday id Klam ath Falls. Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Fruits arcl little daughter left Wednesday for San Jose, Calif., to spend Thanks giving with Mrs. Fruit's parents. Geo. Brooks was a visitor in Mer rill last week. He returned to liis home in Medford accompanied by Ills aunt, Mrs. J. A. Brown, who will visit with relatives a short time. Mrs. C. G. Merrill was in Klamath Falls shopping Wednesday. Mr. Prentis, Tru-Blu representa tive from Portland, was a business visitor in Merrill Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Brown from Lakeview, Ore., visited with friends and relatives in Merrill a few days this week. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Stukel of Klamath Falls were in Merrill Tues day and attended the Merrill recep tion Tuesday evening. A ree&ption was held Tuesday, eve ning at the I. O. O. F. hall in honor of Mr. and Mrs,, C. M. Merritt. The Merritts have been residents of this community for 17 years and will be greatly missed in Merrill. Mr. Merritt has been a prosperous sheep grower. He has been director for the schools for several terms. Mrs'. Merritt has been active in lodge and club work. The large crowd in attending the re ception showed the esteem in which as supply pastor for the Presbyter- i inn church for a time. Thero will be 1 services at the church sun lieu day. Wednesday evening the Merrill public schools gave an entertainment to a packed house. It was an un- r- I usually good entertainment. The play was called "America, the Molting Pot" and was taken from several different plays arid rearrang ed by the teachers. The children showed that they had received a great deal of training by the teach ers and they deserve credit for their part. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fletcher and Ronald Greasy were visitors in Mer rill Thanksgiving day. Mr. and Mrs. Madison Brown had as invited guests for Thanksgiving dinner Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Offield. Misses Ora. Miriam. Winifred. Wilnr.i and Fanette Offield. Mr. and Mrs. it. H. Anderson and daughters Thirza and' Helen spent Thanksgiving with Mrs. Anderson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. "riios. Martin in Klamath Falls. .Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hendrickson entertained at dinner Thanksgiving day. Their guests were Misses Caro line Vaeretti, Sivea Lungduhl. Glad ys Anderson, and Ruth Annisou from Malin. Thanksgiving day was quietly ob served in 'Merrill. The business hous es were closed for the day. Mrs. Rudolph Kattenhorn has been confined to her home with a bad sore throat. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Hale and Miss Virginia Tickle from Klamath Falls spent Thursday in Merrill the guests of Mrs. Jennie Jones. Mt. and Mrs. C. S. Hatch and sons Artie. Stewart and Gordon from Rogue Uiver were guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. With a driveway at one side as shown, forty five to fifty feet would be the minimum lot. The first floor is well above the ground, giving good basement light.
