Armistice Day has become an American institution.
Jnr at is was on that November 11. 1918. so it is todav
a day of mingled revelry and memories. And it is couwer,
just such a day as has been planned tor Klamath r ails.
The urogram of the American Legion post calls for both
joy and solemn reflection. It is a day dear to the hearts
"of America's ex-service men. As they wish it, so should
it be observed.
THE CHRISTMAS CHEST
Strong support should again be accorded the Christ
mas Chest campaign which will get under way tonight
with the appointment of the several committees to carry
on his relief and charitable work during the Christmas
holidays.
. A Christmas Chest; with all agencies of the city work
ing in close cooperation, will avoid unnecessary duplica
tion and will give assurance that all of the city's de
serving poor will be remembered on Christmas Day.
The movement as initiated last year, proved to be
both sensible and practical, and it is to be hoped that
the Christmas Chest this year will meet with the same
success. ,
