Pelicans Win
In Fast Game
From McCloud
Klamath Kails continued i drive
for the pennant yesterday when It
took McCloud Into camp. 11 to S. in
a game where storm clouds hovered
dangerously during the latter stages
of the game.
With Lefty Mohler pitching good
ball, the iviicnns were leading U to
2 up until the fatal seventh, when
McCloud shoved five runs ucross the
plate and made It a horse-race for
a short time.
Mohler lost his effectiveness In
this Inning. With three men on
bases, a McCloud bater knocked the
ball owr the fence, and Mohler
went to the showers. Street fin
ish the game and let McCloud down
for the remaining Innings without
getting himself in danger.
"Frenchy" Dayness pulled one
from the clouds in the fourth when
he stole home, while the crowd
cheered Its approval. McCloud used
three moundsmcn In a vain attempt
to stop the Pelicans.
The championship of the league
Will be settled at Weed next Sunday
when the Pelicans and Weed battle
it out in a game which promises
to be the most thrilling of the
season. Already local fans are talk
ing about the forthcoming game.
and it seems almost certain that a
special train will be chartered for
next week. (
