declaring this issue of bonds valid.
Shute has publicly offered to re
purchase any of the Orenco bonds
which he has sold. He declared that
these bonds had been certified to
him as valid by a responsible firm
of Boston bond atorneys and by
the officials of. Orenco.
Investigators who have been look
ing into the Orenco bond situation
have reported that they have found
that about $500,000 bonds were
printed for the city. An earlier
report given out by one of District
Attorney Myers' investigators that
the bonds printed totalled 1990,000
has not been verified.
The decrease was greatest In
Spain, falling from 179,000 to 78,
i 000, and In lltaly, afiliiiB from 124,
I 000 to 50.000, while Bulgaria which
had 25,000 hectares planted in 1924
' had none in 1925.
On the other hand, a large In
crease was reported from Kiiasia
:rwhere the acreage was augmented
j from 345,000 to 409,00 (hectares.
