"f-ff"?T PAGE FoTJk Dorris Route Will Be Cut Down 8 Miles Grading to Be Started on Market .Road Oradlng of two county roads this summer Will mean that Klamath, and Dorris will, be brought approxi mately, eight miles closer to each other. Instead ' of the roundabout routo by way bf Keno and Worden, It will be possible to take a direct line for tho northern California town through Midland. Only the approval of tho market road engineer of the proposal for market road construction stands in tho way of the grading of the Mid land market road, It -was announced yesterday from the county engi neer's office. As soon as this en dorsement can bo secured, the job will be pushed to completion this year. The project calls for the grading from Miller , school bouse to Mid land; distance of 6.7 mllos. Cost of the project to the, county will be about J20.000. In the meantime tlie finsT dredger has been grading the Midland state Unofroad. which will connect with the Midland market road at Mid land, and .provides the through con nection to the state line and on to Dorris. The dredger has completed grading of the state line road from the state line north to a point two and a quarter miles south of Mid land. Both projects will be completed this year. The eventual plan of the county court Is to surface the two roads. - ... Regular travel is now using the new Chiloquin-Williamson river road, which was surfaced last month. ' By the middle of August the Chilbquin-Agency road will be surfaced,' according to the latest re port to the county engineer. , WHEAT. CROP SAVED MACLEOD, Alberta, July 23.
