in Malin from bis home in.Sprague
River, where, he . and Mrs. Pickett
operate a hotel and pool hall.
Mrs. Mildred Harbcrt of Belber,
Calif.,, is visiting Mrs. John Reber.
. George . Clark left Sunday for
Dorris, where he will work in the
mill for a week or two. Mr. Clark
has' been acting as miller In the
Malin flour' mill for the past year.
H. O. Williams of the Peninsula
ranch spent' the week-end in Klam

Nevada, where they have been for
the past three weeks on a business
trip. Mr. Langslaff will visit with
Dr. and Mrs.' Trout before re
turning to San Francisco.

Harbert spent Wednesday in the
county set.

returned Saturday evening from
Sprague River, where they have
been working on the new hotel Ray
Pickett Is erecting at that place.
O. H. Van Meter Qf Bonanza was
a visitor in Malin this week. .
The Wood's show played to good
houses for three nights. Wednes
day, Thursday and Friday.
Mr. Rajnus- new business build
ing on' Broadway ft nearing comple
tion. There are several other new
buildings going up, one by Mr. Pos

Miss Blossom' Turner of Straw
was in town1 shopping- on Friday.

and relatives.
The aim mil meeting for the elec
tion of high- school directors was
held last week. The retiring mem
bers', M. M'. Staslncy and C. M.
Klrltpatrick were re-elected.
The grounds of the high school
are bolng efficiently cared for and
improved thifr summer vacation.
Trees were planted in the spring
and a lawn put In at the front of
the building. Malin lias a remark
able schflol and grounds for a town

ford were Merrill visitors the week
end. Mrs. Brandon is a sister of
Mrs. T. A. Barrows, who returned
to Medford with them. Mrs. Bar
rows returned to Merrill - Wednes
day. Mrs. Lofland was connected
with- the Merrill Mercantile storo a
number of years ago.
Mr .Kelly, a representative of
the Southern Pacific, visited In Mer
rill' the first of the week.
Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Coan visited
In Merrill Wednesday.

Mrs. Trowbridge is an aunt of Mrs.

Lyle Merrill Is spending a few
days in the Agency country.

of- the deulh of Mrs. Tweed, wife
of Rev. R. Tweed; Mr. Tweed was
at one time pastor of the Merrill
church and It was while he was
here that tho present building was
built..' It was dedicated freo of any
debt. Owing to the altitude Mrs.
Tweed was unable to live In Morrill.
Mrs. Orsa Daniels, In company
with Mr. und Mrs. Earl Irvlno, aro
spending a fiw days at Diamond
lake on a fishing trip. , ,
Merrill people were grieved to
hear of the death of Lee Clyburn,
son of Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Clyburn
of Merrill, who was drowned . In
Klamath Klver. Another son was
burned to death a year ago fighting
forest fires. The sympathy of the
community goes to the grief
stricken family.
fiarl Blodgelt, who Is taking
charge of the Blodgott ranch, bus
left for California for his family
and Is expected soon. Ills furniture
has been received In Merrill.
. Rev. C. C. Hulet left Thursday
morning for Mount Shasta to attend
the annual convention of the Siski
