Heat Blamed For Freak Happening Delaying Train Word of one of the most unusual occurences in local rail history was received today from Algoma, where oxcessslve hoat Thursday ciused eight rail Joints to buckle, delaying the northh.miid afternoon logging train two hours before the damage could be repaired. Tho freak was discovered by 11. Mazzon, section foreman on tie Algonui section, a short time before the train was due. According to local tr.iinmon the occurrence is most unusual. Hail joints have been known many times to creep in extremely hot or c.'ld weather, but this Is declared to be the first time, locally at least, that creeping rails have decided to op pose one another. Lo.-ul Southern Pacific officials, questioned about the happening, de clared that they had heard nothing of it. Itin-Tin-Tin, tpore awe-inspiring and impressive than one had even anticipated, Judging from his previous work -i "Where the North Begins" and "Find Your Man." His sympathetic understanding of human moods and emotions is almost incredible, and In :his picture he is so, bravely lovable, so true to his master and those he serves, that it is difficult to tear oneself away when the last scene flashed on the screen, not to mention the joy it was to see his quick-flashing body that hurtles through Bpaco to fasten itself on his enemies, a brutal gang of bootleggers that planned to bring disgrace on the lighthouse, the blind keeper of the light, his daughter, Louise Kazemla, and llln-Tln-Tin" master, "Buster" Collier, Jr., lb fur ther their own cvilends. "Charley's Aunt," the great fea ture comedy made from the famous old stage farce by Itrnndon Thomas, which is being shown next week at the Pino Tree Theater, is what may be termed a "family affair." ' House No. 711 VHE square house has so many ad- t vantages that it will no doubt nl I ways continue to be popular. It I lh " fV..,l r. Mnmnnnf nllrl .1 . ,1 , T , , ,' Tl f lo arrantrement of the interior, and because of its simple lines builds most eco nomically. Much of the effect of such a house, how ever, depends on the treatment of the wall surface. In this house, the face brick solves the problem admirably. The architect has embellished the walls with panels of simple but beautiful brickwork, and given additional interest to the composition by his attractive treatment of the front porch and entrance doorway. . ,,; This plan beinsr rectangular in shape with one bearing partition through the middle, is very simple in construction so that the house can be built for less than a smaller one that has a number of angles and breaks in its outlines. It will fit on as small a lot as thirty-five feet but would be belter if placed on a forty foot lot The porches are placed so that one of them gives a view of the street while the other has an outlook on the garden. This house need not be built on a level lot, as shown in the illustration, as it Ls adaptable to nan rveca- Designed for American Face lirlck Association a site which slopes either from front to rear or from one side to the other. Whatever direction tin's house faces, somo portion of the porches will always bo in tho .shade. The front porch has direct connec tion with the living room by a pair of French doors and the entrance is so placed that pas sage to and from the front door does not interfere with the full use of the porch. Tho dining room porch may be screened for sum mer use or by glazing will make an excellent conservatory or flower room in any season. There is a large entrance hall with an ample coat closet. The living room and din ing room are large and, together with tho hall, make a splendid arrangement for enter taining. The basement stairs and a fine lavatory open from the passage between the hall and kitchen, making them convenient to all parts of the house. Note how well the kitchen has been planned for the saving of steps. Two cabi nets on cither side of the sink and two mora near the rear door (one above the refriger ator) take the place of the pantry. The four upstair bedrooms, with con venient closets, are large, light and well ventilated.
