Trotter, a logger em ployed by the Lamm Lumber com pany, died last night at a local hos pital following an attack of flu and pneumonia. He was 46 years old and well . known throughout the county. He had been alck far the past two weeks. . The deceased leaves a wiodw and a son, Philip, aged 11. He is also survived by a brother. Walden Trotter of Klamath Falls; a siJr!-:r. Mr. Trotter is the sixth victim in Klamath county from the widespread flu epidemic which has prevailed during tho past month. SCORES IU CHIEF'S DEATH Indians Come Jrom Miles Around to Attend Fu neral of Leader YREKA, California. March 2S. When Frank Jacobs died at his home at Ferry Point, near Happy Camp on tho lower Klamath river recently, It marked the passing of ono of the, few of the remaining survivors of the' Klamath tribe. Just how old Jacobs was, no one seems to know, but his approximate nge was not less than 80 years and In this span of life he had seen the Klamath a tribal hunting ground that changed with the coming of the white pian to a feverish hotbed of geld seekers, who' wrested fortunes from the hills and the streams and passed on almost as quickly as they had come. In splto of his age, Jacobs took a Jeadlng part every year In the an nual Indian festival, the Plck-i-onlsh which Is celebrated on Clear creek. So great was the respect that his tribesmen held for him that for miles up and down tho Klamath Indians came by horseback and on foot to attend his funeral and the burial that followed in a plot near the homo he had known for many years.
