Smith, logger, yesterday received' word that hla brother, Joseph M. 8mlth,thad been shot and killed last week at Centertown, Mo., while Attempting to fight oft bank bandits. The brother was cashier ot the bank where the fatal shooting occurred. The local man did not receive word of the tragic death un til a week after it occurred because he was out ot the elty and did not receive the telegram. Klamath division of the state highway office are now at work clearing off the snow on, the Fort Klamath hill' of the Klamath-Bend highway; and it is hoped to have the highway open for traffic by the last ot the meek. One tractor Is now In nse on the highway and it is possible that an other will be added within the next day or two. The work is being done under the personal, direction of Di vision Engineer Keller.
