AT THE LIBERTY

pathos all play a big part; and
through It Mips Dana goe3 her
dainty way.
. .Th? Storr is a merrv tain nhntif

situations from this premise bring
forth many exciting and laughable
moments in which the star Is superb.
Stilton Sills is Miss Dana's lead
ing man-, and he never gave a more
delightful performance in any of the
big success in which he has ap
peared.. Wallace MacDonald docs a
great piece of work in a semi-comedy
role, and others in the cast In

AT THE PINE TREE
The Congressional Medal of
Honor awarded to Richard O'Nell of
the IGSth Infantry, the- most de
corated man In the country, was
used' In Richard Dix's latest Para
mount picture, 'A Man Must Live",
coring to tho1 Pine Tree Theatre
tonight.
Tho medal was borrowed by
Paramount studio officials from
O'Nell, for use in a scene in the pic
ture wherein the .Congressional
Medal is awarded to the parents of
a hero of the World War. Realizing
the inestimable value of such a
token of the Government's gratitude,
and knowing that It Is almost im
possible to replace such a medal In
case of loss, Paul 81oane, the di
rector, detailled a special man to
guard it throughout the time requir
ed to make the scenes. All con
cerned In the production of the Pic
ture heaved a huge sigh of relief
when the episode bad been com
pleted without mishap, - and the
precious decoration safely restored
to Its owner.'
Jacqueline - Logan and Edna
Murphy head the cast playing In sup
port of Paramount's newest star. '
Romance, sorrow and tragedy
affect the lives ot those who live
in the far1 places just as these
emotions affect those who , live in
places where civilization Is on a
more advanced plane.
It' Is of tho romnnco, sorrow and
tragedy that came Into the lives ot
men and women, in o little logging
town in the great timbered expanses
of the North that the "Measure of
a Man.V, Universal picture, starring

has fought his. way up from the
depths ot the Bowery. He goes to
a logging settlement with a firm
purpose of not onfy winning to com
pleteness his : own manhood, but
with the purpose of aiding others in
a similar struggle.
The picture was filmed for the
most fart In the wilderness ad

of the action. Arthur Rosson direct

McAllister, Francis Ford and Wil
liam J. Dyer.
There is a prologue, the action
of which takes place in the Bowery
of New York as it was in the days
before prohibition, and special sets
for this were constructed at Univer
sal city, one of them being the
replica .of the old Bowery Mission.
