GREATEST ASSET llefore Klamath Falls and Klam ath county can expand and develop, a fundamental rule must be follow ed, declared E. D. TTulove w-ho de livered the principal address, at the .weekly lClwanis club luncheon this noon. The rule, Trulove asserted, Is that before the building must come the foundation. There are, (he speaker said, ma terials in Klamath to build a foun dation . upon which could rest a structure unequalled In the world. First and foremost comes the soil, which, in the last analysis, is the greatest asset that the county can boast. From the soil can be pro duced alfalfa, celery, potatoes and many other farm products. The dairy industry would thrive it de veloped and stock raising at the pres ent time has reached such a stand ard of perfection that a recent com parison of a car load of stock trom Williamson river by Swift and Co., showed that the Klamath cattle com pared favorably with corn fed cat tle. To back up the soil and the pro ducts derived therefrom, Trulove pointed out, the county has an Irri gation system that allows tho farm er an unlimited supply of water. The lumber Industry is another asset that Klamath county possasses. With thirty-five billion feet ot tim ber to draw from, the lumber In dustry Is of primary Importance. ; Dut with all these assets at our back and call we should not forget the necessity of building a founda tion, strons and true. Otherwise tho building will reach a certain 1 olnt and collapse.
