NEW DAIRY IAW EFFECTIVE TODAY COWS OF ALL DAIRYMEN SELL IXG MILK TO THE PUBLIC MUST BE TUBERCULIN TEST ED BUTTER MAKERS, ALSO The law enacted at the last session of the state legislature requiring all dairymen selling milk to the public to dispose of milk only from cows that have passed the tuberculin test or milk that has been pasteurized, went Into effect today. The new law does not apply to farmers selling milk to the creamer ies, cheese factories or condensorles, as these Institutions are held respon sible for the pasteurising of the milk used. Those farmers making their own butter and selling direct to the public will come under the purview of the act. Sections two and eight of the act follow; "Vhat from and after September 1, 1017, It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, company, corporation or association, to sell or offer or ex pose for sale or exchange, for human consumption, any milk from cows that have not passed the tuberculin test, unless such milk shall have been pasteurised as hereinafter provided. It Is understood and hereby express ly stated that nothing In this section shall apply to the delivery of milk or cream to creameries, cheese or con dessed milk factories by the producer of such milk or cream, or la hulk to the wholesale trade." Section of the act makes provi sions as follews: "Milk from any cow or cows whose owner or lessee hall apply to the State Livestock Sanitary Board to have such cow or cows tuberculin tested shall be ex empt from all of the provisions of this act until such time as such cows shall have been tested." This appli cation should be made to Dr. W. H. Yytle, state veterinarian, Salem. tion, might possibly make a mistake. These military patrols are operat ing in ever)' part of Oregon where forests are to be found. Their loca tion is not revealed for obious roa sons. They move from place to plnco nnd keep to cover as much as possi ble. Their task Is that of hunting down public enemies who have been firing the Oregon forests, and the are under orders from the Western Department of the army to deal In stantly and vigorously with Bitch pub lic enemies. So, If necessary for you to go Into the woods, be careful about lighting fires. No doubt It would be better to keep out of the woods unless you have urgent business therein. Wliat If you had a fire tonight? See ChHcote. 31 "Ye That Labor" at "The Little Brown Church" tomorrow night.
