Sister's School to Be Ready Soon The sisters' convent so long looked for, and which will be, known as the "Klamath Falls Academy," is an as sured fact, and everything Is on the higk road ot completion for the open lag on September 3rd, on which date all prospective students must be en rolled. Actual teaching, however. will not begin until Septetmber 10th. Students who are to board at the academy should forward Immediately their, names and addresses, tho tbey seed' sot present themselves until September 10th. The boarding and music depart ments of the 'academy will be located in "the residence of the sisters, as the new school building will be used for school work only. Qultean encour aging number of students have ap plied as boarders, and all apprehen sion of a small patronage lias van ished. Both boys and girls will be accepted as boarders, but no boy over 12 years of age will be received as a boarder. Girls and young ladles, re gardless 'of age, will be accepted as boarders. j The domestic features or the acad emy will be In the hands of the sis-1 tera entirely, and every assurance Is given (that nothing will be left un done to make that department com plete. The academy will be directed by seven Sisters of Charity, who will arrive In Klamath Falls within the next two weeks. These sisters repre sent the highest type of womanhood, and tbey will bring to the academy the best talent and ability that a long experience in education can provide. Grades will cover primary, grammar and all branches of the high school. Text books to be used are the ssme as adopted In the public schools of Ore gon. Whilst pupils of every denomi nation and no denomination will be accepted on presentation of proper credentials as to character and repu tation, no pupil will ever be compell ed to take part in any religious exer cise. Catholic children alone will be required to follow the religious train ing. Attendance at t religious exer cises will be purely passive for all non Catholics, and the' religious wishes ot parents, non-Catholic, who will have their children at the academy will al ways be respected. Music and paint ing will be taught. Boarders will be charged S30.00 a month, which will Include board, tuition and laundry. Day scholars will be charged f 2.G0 a month. NEW BRIDGE IS MONEY MAKER 'VANCOUVER. Wash., Aug. 21. The big steel Interstate bridge across the Columbia River between Van couver, Wash., and Portland, Ore., on the Pacific highway. Is a money maker, according to figures recently compiled by Rufus Holman, Portland, chairman of the bridge commission. The big bridge was completed recent ly at a cost ot 11,566.32.
