Men in Custody CEDAR RAPIDS. Aug. A. An out- break which resulted from the arrest of the Rev. John Relchert, pastor of the German Evangelical church at. Low den. Iowa, on a charge of mak- Ing treasonable utterances, is being J Investigated by United States mar shals. A mob is reported to have threatened to lynch Dan McGiltvray. an attorney, who gave the informa tion which led to the Rev. Reichert's arrest. LOWDEN, Iowa. Aug. i. Four clt liens of this community, three of them past 60 years of age, were ar rested by federal officers and charged with, treason and resisting the govern ment. The action is an aftermath of an outbreak that approached a riot between loyal citizens and pro-Ger mans. The prisoners are: Albert Schaeter, retired farmer; William Richman, furniture dealer; Ernest Meier, retired farmer, and Carl Gerht, farmer. All are wealthy men. United States Marshal Moore and Deputy Healey arrived here from Cedar Rapids after they had been in formed that this town of 700 popula tion was a hotbed of sedition. DAVENPORT, Iowa. Aug. 4. D. H. Wallace, a lecturer: S. K. Willis, an attorney, and Fred Vollmer, broth er of former Congressman Vollmer, have been indicted. Wallace was charged with violation of the espion age law and conspiracy, and Willis and Vollmer with conspiracy. All pleaded not guilty. Dr. Henry Matthey and his nephew, Dr. Walter Matthey, were also Indict on charges of conspiracy. MURPHY CLEARED OF MURDER OF MARERO MEXICO CITY Albert Murphy, nn American, has been cleared of any re sponsibility in connection with the assassination of President Francisco Madero .and Vice President Jose Maria Pine Saurez, on February 19. 1913. Murphy owned the automobile In which the president and vice presi dent were taken from the national palace and shot.
