Some declared a posslbil Ity of unsettled conditions ahead was the 'Immediate move for the warning. Maay read into the board statement aa actual apprehension as to the out come of enormons financing of the allies, especially in view of the possi bility that they are "biting off more than they can. chew." The board, however, disclaimed any intent of reflecting on or discussing the status of foreign nations involved. Its sole Idea, said the statement, is to, keep America's funds liquid, and to avoid tielng np funds through the purchase of foreign treasury bills un der Ioag time obligations. "The board deems it its duty to caution member banks that Jt does not regard it ia the interest of the coHBtry at this time' said the state- meat, "that they iavest la foreign hills of this character."' The order was taken as a reply to J. P.
