IS BEING LOGGED UNDER DIRECTION OF FORHBTER BEDFORD (Herald Special Service) CHILOQUIN, Ore., Jan. 13. Log ging operations on the Klamath In dian reservation under the supervi sion of J. M. Bedford, deputy supervisor-of forests, are progressing very nicely at the government camp north of Klsmsth Agency on Wood river. One million feet of logs have been 'decked and are ready for hauling to Wood river. They will be driven to the mouth of Wood river and from there they will be towed across Upper Klamath Lake to Klamath Falls, for delivery to the Klamath MaaBfacturing company. This con cern bit 'contracted for fire million feet on the reservation. " It is planned to accomplish the work la two winters; one and a hal to two million feet this winter and" the Valance next winter. New log slag equipment including three large sleighs arrived recently for this work. The logging camp wilt be kept in operation this winter until the depth of saow prevents further work. Iadlaa teams are used exclusively and Iadlaa labor wherever it is found practicable. A delightful farewell party was givea Saturday night at Chlloquin by Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Wilson and George Sargent in honor of the tat ter's filter. Miss Claire Sargent, who leaves in a few days for Chicago. For the past five months Miss Sar gent has been visiting with her brother, George W. Sargent, time keeper at Indian irrigation head qsartera. The snow is now nineteen Inches deep at Chlloquin. A total of twen ty-ala laches of snow has fallen Mace January l, amounting to a a precipitation of four inches. The teaaaeratere to date for this month has ranged from 2 to 37 above xero.
