Prentice i ROM the excellent spirit prevail ina throuahout the evanlnc and the enthusiasm manifested during the sneaking, it Is evident that everyone of the hundred or more guests at the "Get Together" dinner at the White Pelican last nlaht. must have felt that Klamath Falls Is a pretty good place to do business in, hut that it may be made a much better plane for com mercial and Industrial activity. Bach must also have felt more strongly than ever before that here la a good place for a home, and can he made a much more desirable place in which to live. The splendid, thoughtful addresses must have caused each listener to feel, however, that he has not quite measured up to what was there shown to be his individual responsi bility as a citizen of Klamath Falls, and experienced a desire and a re solve to come no nearer to the pat tern of citizenship set before him. In that atmosphere of, deep sincer ity and earnestness, each of us cer tainly caught something of the loyalty, enthusiasm and determina tion that was so prevalent. Each could not but feel a thrill of nleaanre at the opportunity afforded for doing something for OUR CITY, Klamath Falls, and our county. We are led, to realize that we have not heretofore appreciated the fact that Klamath Falls is OUR CITY. And with this we must each have felt that It rests with us individually to say whether wo are willing to get together as a unit and so onranlse that we can make this. OUR. CITY. grow, to become the city we want It to be, and of which we shall all be proud. And that we are accountable for what Klamath Falls, Is, and will be responsible for what It is to be In the future,- whether we wish to be or not. It was made verv clear that wo cannot escape this, and the sooner we accept this the better for Klamath Kails and for each of us living here. we go about our affairs as thonah we think that In dolnc business nn. rightly we thereby made good citizens. But are we? That la but a nor. tlon of the obligations of real citi zenship. We act as though we believe w know all about OUR CITY, and its needs and how they shonld be met: and that all others also know. We don't, and they don't. The question is sauarelv no to us , wnat are we going to do about It? Are we going to drift alons with the usual indifference as to what OUR CITY is and may be? Are we going to pass up the best opportunity that we have ever had to effectively nm. moto the Interests of Klamath Falls and the splendid resources of nm ath county? Are we coins to con tinue in the old way of everybody ror nimseir, a policy which has been such a great barrier to our progress? Or will we really aet toe-ether in the New Commercial Club, stay to gether and pnll together? Last night's dinner opened tha nortaia d pointed the way to get together for systematic and effective endeavor for progress. Let us heed the call, follow tha course Indicated and rwrr anvm. WHBRB".
