Mc Call Is In receipt of a letter from Supervisor M. L. Krleksoa of hted- ford, accompanied by 100 Crater Lake folders for distribution lu this city. The folders are not only use ful tor those who visit the park, for whose use they are especially Intend ed, but to those Interested In forestry regulations and game laws, tor be sides a detail map of the park inside the folder, there are printed on the outside many bints about the care of timber and game, with extracts from statutes regarding them. The printed matter also calls at tention to public health regulations as thev apply to hunters, campers, tourists and foreet rangers. The folder says: "The timber In dustry has been the main contributor to development on the Pacific coast. Its revenues are shared alike by laborera, farmers, merchants, artisans and professional men. If the Umber were burned up many Industries would be destroyed and all cltlseaa would suiter. 'The lumber Industry Is, and, It the timber Industry Is protected, will long be. the biggest Industry on the Psctflc coast. At present It produces each year a revenue to the commun ity of $116,000,000. la this same region, timber that yields, at tha same rate, a revenue amounting to $40,000,000 Is destroyed annually by Ore. "This Injury Is aa widespread as It Is unnecessary. Even If you don't own a stick ot timber you are Inter ested In tbo outcome derived from Its manufacture. Almost all of the money received from the lumber In dustry goes to pay for labor and sup plies In the state In which the timber grew. On every thousand feet burned the public bears over 80 per cent of the loss. All the owner loses Is the stumpage value." Following this are suggestions as to "How Ton Can Help." In the gsme data Is the follewing: "It will be appreciated It you will re port violations of game laws to Wil liam L. Flnley, state game warden, 108 Yeon building. Portland, Ore. All communications will be treated aa strictly confidential. Your name will not be brought Into any case without your permission.
