Klamath Water Users' Association Vote to Hold Reg
ular Annual Meeting in June
The result of the vote on the amendments to the by-laws
of the VYuter Users' Association was announced at the be
((inning of the meeting this morning and showed that all but
Section 2, of Article V., had been passed. The amendments
are as follows:
That aoction 1, Article II of aaid Hy-lawa be amended to read as follows:
The annual meeting- of the atockholdcra of the Association
ahall be held at Klamath Falls, Ore., at a place to be designated
by the Director!, and stated In the notico hereafter provided for,
on the Friday Immediately preceding the first Saturday in June
of each year, at the hour of 2 o'clock p. m. (The first annual
meeting under Ihis Ily-law ahall be held in the year 1909):
That Section 2, Article II of said By-Uwa be amended to read as follows:
Notice of such annual meeting ahall be given by publication In
at least three newspaper, published weekly, within the Irriga
tion district. Such notico ahull he published not less than thirty
daya before the date of holding such meeting;
That Section 4, Article II of said Dy-lawa bo amended to read as follows:
Notice of apeclal meeting shall ho n'ven by publication In the
same manner na for regular meetings. Such notice ahall be given
not lesa than twenty daya before l he date of such meeting, and
shall contain the order of the Hoard of Directora calling such
meeting, stating the purpose for which said meeting Is called;
That Section 2, Article III of aild lly-luwa be amended to read as follows:
Kach Director ahall at tho tirno of hla election .be a qualified
elector and the owner of landa situated in tho Irrigation district
to which' shares of stock of thla association are appurtenant, and
shall also be a reaident of the district;
That section 4, Article HI of said By-I.iwa be amended to read as follows:
Tho annual election of Directors, commencing with the year
1909, ahall be held on the Friday immediately preceding the first
Saturday in June of each year, at the time of the regular annual
meeting of the Aasociation, and auch Directora ahall hold their re
spective offices for one year, or until their successors are elected
and qualified. The Board of Director! ahall be elected by ballot,
and a majority of the number of shares voted at the election shall
be necessary for a choice;
That Section 2, Article V of aaid Uy-laws bo amended to read as follows:
At all elections any owner of. stock of thla association, whose
assessments have been fully paid, ia a qualified elector and shall
be entitled to one vote for each and every share of stock owned
by him, not, however, to exceed In the aggregate 160 votes.

oration on "True Success." Mr. Martin
showed familiarity wjth his subject and

of VMS, he is the boy orator.
Mia Kleio Applegate, In her usual
manner, rendered beautifully a violin
tolo. This was followed by an oration
by Maud Kitella Nail on the subject
"Broaden Your Horizcu." In the prep
aration ol her production Miss Nail
ihowed deep thought and hard work.
Miss Fannie Kldora Virgil gave an
able oration on "Auld Lang Syne." Her
delivery wui goi-j and the number re
ceived the beany applause that it well
merited. Misses Faye llogue and Haiel
ltolfe, both members of tho graduating
claas, next gave a piano duet that waa
lully appreciated by the audience.
Mr. Perry DeLap in the preparation
of bis oration on "The New Era" showed
marked familiarity with the develop
ment of the West and a thorough knowl
edge of the current topic and important
questions. His oration was an abl
production and the result ol deep study
and hard work. Mr. Chandler McCaoley
preaented a well written oration on the
"Pacific's Part In the World' Coat.
