IMPROVEMENTS TO COST $10,000 Will Build Here. President Barnum, of tue Rogue River Valley raiload, has commenced the erection of a neat little cottage on the lot adjoining the depot which he will occupy as soon as it is finished and ready for oc cupancy. This change is made by Mr. Bar num owing to the fact that this is where it is necessary for him to be most of the time on account of his duties on the road. The people here will be pleased to learn that Mr. Barnum has decided to reside here, as every new residence and additional family makes the town more prosperous and lively, and Mr. and Mrs. Barnum are very desirable residents for any town. We learn, this week, from a reliable source, that the frame buildings now be ing used by the Sisters for school aud dormitory purposes and which have been used for many years past, are to be torn down and replaced by handsome, coni- modious, new and up-to-date brick struc tures such as are needed at the present time on account of the growth and pro gress of the school. All of the particu lars are not known at this time, but the important part to the people of Jackson ville, at least, is the fact that the school buildings are really going to be built and in the near future.
