While Mr. Drown J gave out no information in regard to where tbe survey would run through this valley, it cau be stated tbat the piesent survey is being made on tbe east side of tbe river, and that a camp in tbe lower end of the valley will be made ou tbe east side of the stream. From this information it looks like the survey will run through tbe central part of Big Valley and connect with the survey made south from Klamath Falls to h point a few miles north of Lookout. Tbia survey la being made by tbe Southern Pa cific Company, and from Information obtained from tbe asaistaut engineer, several months will be spent on tbe survey through tbe canyon and tbe Valley. A very satlafaotroy grade Las been obtained so far through tbe Pitt River canyon and after reaching tbe vallev no obstacles will be encount ered on tbe survey north. Bieber Gazette. XII OS.
