Cash in Advance Alturas Plaindealer: Mr. E. E. Conklin, of Adin. was a visitor at our office this week. Many claims have been located in tbe vicinity and Mr. Conklin predicts something will be doing down there in tbe near future The Examiuer is a business propo sition and is conducted as a luiriiue.sH enterprise, therefore all anouuoe ments in these columns of whatever kind on nntnre, except nnrley news matter must be paid for iu dvam-e at r ate of 10 cents per line. ANOTHER EVANGELIST, BILLY WILLIAMS, COMING SOON Billey Williams, tbe noted drum mer evangelist, will bold Inter national Gospel Temperance meetings in Lakeview June 6 to 21. Mr. Williams comes to this place highly endorsed by the leading paoers of several states. As preacher he is decisive, practical and magnetic. He cerainly has the unction and believes that Jesus Christ alone can save a man. His vernacular is that of tbe Christian business man rather than that of tbe scholarly recluse. For many years evangelist Williams has been a saved man and doing tbe work of God. His life story is like a romance, and it is no wonder be reaches men, and tbe people Sock to bear him. He has been under tbe rod and bai much sympathy fo tbe fallen. He is a man who can describe graphically and with much force what be has seen and been through. Mr. Williams is at present a resi dent of San Jose. Calif., and expects to confine bis work to California and Oregon doring tbe next year. FRCST DOES SOME DAMAGE TO SOME OF THE EARLIER FRUIT The cold and stormy spell tbat wrought such damage to tbe Middle West last week reached Lakeview fiO'netime during Sunday night, as will- be seen from tbe weather report elaofhere io this paper. There was DIED A sad death occurred Saturday evening, being tbat of Edmund Ahem, who arrived only two weeks ago from tbe town of Dronicolloger, Ireland. Tbe young man was only 22 years old last Marcb. He was herding sheep for J. I. Flynn, between here and Plush, but being consumptively in clined, tbe high altitude casued hem orrhage of the lungs, which resulted in deatb, after an illaess of only two or three days. Father Greenwood of Klamath Falls held Masss over the .remains, and read tbe prayers and ritual at tbe grave. He was buried in the Lake view ce-neterv Monday afternoon. His onlv linns relative is bis father back in tbe old country who will be greatly shocked and saddened over tbe early deatb of bis son. no, wind ncr snow, but tbe mercury j lipped several cogs too low for tbe j peace of mind of the fruit growers. ; Tbe damage done is not yet deter-1 mined, and opinions vary, isorae insist tbe crop will be a total loss, while others equally as sanguini, state tbat tbe loss, if any, will be a benefit, as tbe blocm of fruit trees of all kinds is too great, and under normal conditions would necessitate much thinning out . This also is tbe opinion, of Mr. A. M. Smit h, county fruit inspector, and should be con sidered authoritative. Children Cry FOR FLETCHER'S C ASTO R I A EVERY SHEEP IN LAKE COUNTY MUST BE DIPPED The discovery made by U S. In spector Proudfoot that there was scab to a limited extent in tbe docks of Lake County, has brought the follow ing vigorous letter from Chief In spector McClure, which means tbat every sheep in this county must be 'dipped twice within the next 30 days, i This may bring hardship and expense j to flock owners, but it is tbe law and i must be complied with at once. mmmKaasKMnu Blue Prints Made I will make Blue Prints o' any township of land in the Lakeview Land District, and do abstract work.
