Caniker, of tbe West Side, has been very low witb pneu monia for a couple of weeks past, but Mr. Uarriker stated last Saturday that his wife waa some better. Jas. T. Metzker has bought tbe Ed. Fields farm, four miles north of Lake view, on tbe marsh. He paid $4,000 ' for the ranch, which is one of tbe best natural hay ranches in tbe valley. Messrs Oscar and Bert North, who ' have been in Warner Valley for some j weeks looking over tbe country, j passed through Lakeview last Sun- day on their way to Klamath Falls. The Examiner forgot to mention last week that Mrs. E. E. Woodcock. who has been to Portland in a hos pital, returned to ber home in Lake view very much Improved in health. Frank Stanley's bund of goats passed through town Monday morn ing, on their way to tbe range. Frank has a very fine band of goats and they look nice, all in a bunch, over 800 head. Tbe Warden of the Walla Walla pen itentiary announces that wool bags will sell for 8 cents a piece less tb'tn last year, which will be 32 cents each, f. o. b. Walla Walla Farmers should not wait another year to put out fruit trees. There will be a world wide market for Lake county fruit before trees planted even now can be made to bear. Frank Nelska, a homesteader in tbe Christmas Lake settlement, was brought to Lakeview this week by Deputy Sheriff C. D. Arthur on a charge of insanity. B. F. Cloud waa up from bis ranch a few miles below Pine Greek, last Saturday. Since leaving Lake view Mr. Cloud does not visit witb us as often as his friends would like. Tbe Examiner has promised Rev. Armstrong that it would credit bim witb the next wedding that cornea off, to make good for tbe one at which he officiated last week that we credited to Rev. Bailer.
