ADRt., Dec 18.( Editor Examiner.) Aa new from Ariel has tteen scarce, perhaps you would like to hear of a very pleasant ctent that occurred not long ago. I believe It happened in this way. A large party, consisting of the ladle and gentlemen of the neighbor hood, went np the creek for an out ing and to flab. After Joking each other for a time the lad lea Joined to gether against the gentlemen aa to which party Would be the champion and finally decided that the defeated party, whether lad leu or gentlemen, bould give an oyster supper to tb crowd. The lad lea for once entered the contest with energy. Trying hard to keep their tonggea front wagging to freely, for fear they ahould forget to fish for champion ship. Thus the day was spent and the ladles came off victorious; so the gentlemen had to keep to their agreement and give the oyster sup per. A few of the lad lea were to- prepare thla oyster treat. The plac chosen for the feast wsi at Mr. James GI van's and Satarday even ing the time set. Most every one was present, but those not, truly missed a very pleas-1 ant affair. Soon after the crowd I gathered progressive wblat was In order, alx tables were kept running all the evening. All seemed aa de termined to win aa were the fishing party. When the bell tapped tc close, points were counted and found to be that Mr. Fred Mecener and Mrs. Friday were champions. Mr. Prlday and Mrs. Powne walked of with the booby prlxe. While the supper was being prepar ed music and conversation were In dulged In by the older people, whll games for the young people were li I order. When supper was announc ed, we all were more than surprise to see how the table groaned unde the lavish spread of chicken, serve In all ways, baked fish with dressinf Beauties to behold, whether cooke or uncooked, deviled bara and oy tern. Well in fact good things 1 suit the most fastidious, and ever, thing that could be obtalne Twenty seven sat at the first tat i aud we all ate uutil we feared aor might have thought we bail be saving up tor the occasion fof.Wv al days and finally when wn were el cused, one poor unfortunate k with so many regrets, that' he aa he only wished he had a iieck like crane so he could taste the go I things for a long time, while It w going down. There were two ti les spread and in all present tb were nearly sixty. A better ti was never had. When the clock struck two crowd dispersed, all thanking I and Mrs. GIvan for the good ti and their generous hospital!
