General Election in June, 1902, and for
the transaction of such other business
as may come before the Convention. j
A resolution was passed at the meet-j
ing of the County Central Committee to j
the eflect that in the event of delegates j
being elected who cannot attend the
County Convention they surrender
their proxies to some member of their
own delegation.

IRRIGATION BUX PASS1.
The Irrigation bill hat been passed by
the Senate of the United State. The
irrigation measure provides tkaU all
moneys received from the sale ol public
land, in Arizona, California, Colorado,
Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Ne
vada, New Mexico, North and South
Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Utah,
Washington and Wyoming, beginning
July Lt last, be devoted to the con
struction of necessary irrigation works
for the reclamation of arid lands, the
work to be done and the money ex
pended under the direction of the Sec
retary of the Interior. The bill waa un
der discussion for several hours, but en
countered no opposition and was passed
without a rollcall.
LAKE ENTITLED TO NAME THE
REPRESENTATIVE.
Lake County is entitled to the Rep
resentative in the State Legislature
this year, and we should ask our neigh
bor Klamath to cooperate with us in the
selection of a nominee. Klamath had
the honor at the last election and it is
only right that Lake send the Represen
tative this time. Lake can send a
strong man one who will do honor to
the position aa well as to his constitu
ents.
