Court convened pursuant to adjourn ment, same officers present, when the following proceeding were had to-it: In the matter of the petition of M. C. Currier, fur a license to 8"ll spirituous, malt and vinous liquors in quantities less than one gallon in Chewaucan pre cinct. This matter coming on to be heard upon motion of L. F. Conn, attorney for M.C. Currier for a license to issue to paid M. C. Currier, and the petition of T. C. Welch and fifty-six others having been duly filed herein, and due and suf ficient proof of publication of said peti tion and notice of application for a li cense together with the County Treasur er's receipt for two hundred dollars (1200.00) having been heretofore duly filed herein, and his, tlie said M. C. Cu. rier's bond with C. Henkle and P. Post as sureties having been duly exe cuted, filed and approved, and -he Court having duly considered the same, and finding that said petition contains the names of majority of the legal voters of said precinct, and equal in number to a majority of all votes cast in such pre cinct at the last preceding general elec tion, and the Court being fully advised in the premises ; It is therefore ordered that a license be, and the Clerk of this Court is here by ordered and directed to issue a license to the said M. C. Currier to sell spiritu ous, malt and vinous liquors in quanti ties less than one gallon, at Paisley, in Chewaucan precinct. Lake county, Ore gon, for a period of six months from September 1 1901. Thomas " " 189S l;5 In the matter of the report of the ex perts heretofore appointed by this Court to examine the accounts of the Clerk, Sheriff and Treasurer of Lake County, Oregon, for the period from July 2d, 1900, to July 1st, 1001 : The court having examined the report of L. F. Conn and V. J. Moore, on file herein, finds as follows, to wit: That the County Clerk has collected from all sources and turned over to the County Treasurer, the sum of (2053.00; that he has undercharged in the record ing of deeds, realty and chattel mortgag es, the sum of 02.25. That he has over charged in different fees the sum of $7.00. That he has collected and turned over to the Treasurer the sum of f 4.00 which he was eniuieu to retain lor lus own use and benefit. That the Sheriff has collected for taxes and fees the sum of 151,217.10, and has turned over to the Treasurer $51,214.44, leaving a balance of (2.00 collected and unaccounted for. That the Treasurer has received from all sources the sum of (05,838.48, and that It has disbursed the sum of (54,405. 72, and had remaining on hand the sum of (11, 431. 7. The Court being fully advised in the matter, it is hereby ordered that the Clerk collect the undercharges and pay back the overcharges as per report here in filed, ami report the same to this Court at the next regular meeting in Noveinlier, 1901 ; and it is further order ed that the Sheriff pay to the Treasurer the sum of (2.60, tlie balance collected and unaccounted for. It is therefore ordered that said state ment be, and the same is hereby approv ed. In the the matter oi the assistance of L. F. Conn in the collection of delinquent taxes. It appearing to the Court that the assist ance oil., r. Conn. Attoriiey-at-iaw. in the collection of the delinquent taxes, are no longer required; it is therefore ordered that the said L. F. Conn, be, ami he is hereby no longer retained, as such assistant collector. In the natter of the report of the viewers heretofore appointed to view the proposed road etiiioned for by C. A. Branch and others: The resrt of the viewers on file here in, W. D. Tracy, Imar Deter and A. T. Clippenger, which was read in open Court at two different days of the July term, 1901, of the County Court, and the report of the viewers, F. M. Duke, J. V. Mikel and A. S. Down appointed toasstssand determine the amount of the damages claimed by S. I!. Chandler and B. V. Hartman by the opening of said road, and the Court being satisfied that the amount of damages so assessed and determined by the viewers in the sum of (1)0 to S. B. Chandler, ami (30 to B. V. Hartman, is just and equitable, and that the proi)! road w ill be of sufficient lmortance to the public to cause said damtiges so assessed and de- termi ed to le paid by the County, and the court being satisfied that such road wiil be of public utility; it is therefore ordered that said reort, survey and plat be recorded, anil from henceforth said road shall be considered a public high way, and it in further ordered that I toad Siiervisoi F. II. Snyder, in Load Dis trict No. 12, open said road. Ordered by the Court that warrants be drawn upon the Treasurer in pay ment of the damages assessed and de termined, as follows, to wit: S. B.
