Officers Installed at
Woman's Club Meeting
Gene Teague Chevrolet Says
The final meeting of the year for
the Mill City Woman's Club was
held Tuesday evening at the home of
Mrs. O. K. DeWitt. A no-hoat covered
dish buffet supper was served *t
6:30 to members, their husbands and
other guests. Also present were Mr.
and Mrs. Melford Nelson from Mon
mouth. Mrs. Nelson is president of
the third district of Federated Wom
an’s clubs.
Following the supper Mrs. Vera
Hathaway conducted a short busi
ness meeting and Mrs. Nelson instal
led the officers for the ensuing year: I
first vice president, Mrs. Don Carl- •
son; second vice president, Mrs. Jay I
Mason;
corresponding
secretary, |
Mrs. Fred Moore; recording secre
tary, Mrs. Clyde Rogers; treasurer,
Miss Daisy Geddes. A president has I
mot been elected as the nominating
committee was unable to secure any- |
one to accept this office. An execu
tive meeting will be called next week I
for the purpose of working out a
solution to the situation.
Mrs. John Muir announced that the |
recent “do it yourself’’ style show,
which was attended by Mrs. Robert
Holmes, was a success with about
100 people attending. Proceeds from
the affair, which also featured a '
silver tea, were sent to the Child
ren’s Farm Home at Corvallis; a
project of the club.
Mrs. Nelson gave a brief talk about
her experiences as president of the
Third District. The evening was
concluded with Mrs. Roger Nelson
arranging several contest games in
which the group participated.
