Twenty-two Present at Garden Club Meeting LYONS—The Garden club held their meeting Wednesday afternoon in the fireplace room at the Meth odist church with Mildred Prichard and Carolyn Hiatt as hostesses. There were 22 present. Martha Cru- son presided over the business meet ing. A short discussion was held on soil testing, and plans to do that at the next meeting with Bei Hiatt and Laura Neal to do the testing. The care of Cemalias was also discussed. The next meeting will be held April 10th with Donna Asmussen and Eva Bressler as hostesses. The discussion will be flowers for the north side, and Spring bulbs. Following the business meeting games of scrambled flowers were played with Juanita Brown and Martha Cruson winning prizes. Eva Bressler won the prize for having the most guests present. Secret pal names were drawn followed by re freshments served by Mrs. Prichard and Mrs. Hiatt to Alice Huber. Mar ian Pennington, Betty Carter, Alma Spellmeyer, Ann Holzfuss, Bea Hiatt, Alma Olmstead, Laura Neal, Rose Cox, Donna Asmussen, Juanita Brown, Cora Prichard, Nona Mays, Evelyn Julian, Mabel Downing. Alta Bodeker, Martha Cruson, Eva Bress ler, Virgene Scott and Gertrude Weidman. Mrs. Edee Allen from Blue River is spending several days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Allen. She is an aunt of Mr. Allen and Mrs. Leota Worden. Members of the Lyons WSCS held their annual Silver Tea at the Meth odist church Tuesday afternoon with District President, Mrs. Lawrence Leirman of Stayton as guest speak er. Rev. and Mrs. Charles McCarthy are receiving congratulations upon the birth of their first child, a son, David Charles, born Thursday, March 14 at Salem General hospital.
