April 2, in Salem Memorial hospital. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Kinunel motored to Creswell Sunday to visit at the O. E. Hoodenplye home. Mrs. Frank Jackson spent the week end in Portland visiting her sister, Mrs. DeYoung, who is ill. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Stiffler and sons, spent Sunday in Salem, visiting relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Wilkinson have moved from their home on Doug las street and are now living in Stayton. Mr. and Mrs. Charles L’mphress and family spent Saturday night and Sun day at Empire at the David McIntyre home. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Johnson, of I Portland, were guests of Otto Koeneke Sunday. Mrs. Johnson is a sister of Mr. Koeneke. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gibson have I txi'n having as their guests, their son-in- law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. George Williams of Eugene. Colleen Morgan, who has been em ployed for some time at Hilltop Market, is now employed at the Mill City State Bank. Mr. and Mrs. Dell Smith went to Portland Sunday to celebrate their wedding anniversaiy. Mrs. Smith also did some buying for her store on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Edward l*a Ion of Scio, M rs. Emma Burke and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Moffatt of San Fiancisco, were' visitors at the Arey Podrabsky home [ Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Tinney became parents of their fourth son on Fri day, April 15, at Salem General hos pital. The Elmer Taylor’s of Mehama j are the maternal glandparents. Sgt. Al Hook and Sgt. The Woman’s Council of the Christ ian church will meet Wednesday, April 27, at 2 p. m. at the home of Mrs. Frank Caraway. Plans will be completed for a combined white ele- hant and rummage sale, Thursday, May 5. A noon luncheon will be held I in conjunction with the sale. Twelve young people of the Assem bly of God church joined in a progres- [ sive dinner Saturday night. After the first course, which was served at at | the Charles Umphress home, the group proceded to the Clarence Da- vies. The last stop was at Cecil | Hinkle’s where the last course had been prepared, Dessert was also served there, provided by Rev. and | Mrs. Vikers.
