5—THE MILI. CITY ENTERPRISE May 4. 1950 imm pace Master Kelly Honored Johnny Kelly was honored with a birthday party at his home, Friday afternoon, April 28, on his fourth birthday. During the afternoon, Mr. Kelly took moving pictures of the children while at play. Johnny received many lovely gifts. Refreshments were served at the close of the afternoon, the birthday cake having been cleverly decorated to represent a merry-go- round by his grandmother, Mrs. W. J. Robinson. Attending the party were Jeanie, Carl Hall, little Patrick, and Mrs. Carl Kelly, Stephen, Allen and Mrs. Vernon Todd, Mark Sheythe and Mrs. Don Sheythe, Bobby Hill and Mrs. Bob Hill, Johnny Kelly and Mrs. Charles Kelly. Dropping inlater were his sister, Leia Kelly, and grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Hill For Guaranteed Cleaning it’s the NU-METHOD Eighth Grade Students Visit Portland Museum Portland historical museum in the civic auditorium was the focal point of 8th grade students from Mill City last Saturday. Miss Evangeline Shattuc, teacher j of the 8th grade accompanied her class. Driver Bill McCoy took the j group in the school bus. Points of interest to the pupils were a real covered wagon which came across the plains; the anchor and chain of Captain Gray’s ship; a lock of Mrs. Whitman’s hair, and the tomahawk which was used to kill both Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Whitman. Following the sight-seeing in the museum the group went to Washing ton park where they enjoyed a picnic lunch and saw animals in the zoo. Making the trip were Miss Shattuc, Mr. and Mrs. Bill McCoy, Gerald Wilson, Jim Johnson, Jim Cuthbert, Janice McGraw. Phyliss Albright, Rosella Thomas, Betty Craven. Vir ginia Timm, Carol Blazek, Mary Jo Wolverton, Donna Bengston, Frances Johnson. Alfred Ward, Richard Ver beck, Janet Brinton, Bill Gorman, Jackie Roberts, Benny King. Betty Newsome, May Brower, and Richard Lovell. High School Playday Draws Canyon Girls The Girls Athletic association of Mill City high school sponsored a "playday" Saturday with girls at tending from Gates. Detroit, and Mill City. The day activities started at 10 a.ni and ended at 4:30 p m. The program for the day consisted of registration, mixers, games, races, treasure hunt, potluck lunch, softball, square danc- | ing, tennis and the presentation of I awards. The girls were divided into six groups , for games and group six received the highest honors. Miss Hope Baney is G.A.A. Advisor. Lunch was prepared and served by the food committee, Dorothy Downer, Alona Fay Daly, Patricia Cree. Anna Mae Nelson and La Vetta Powelson. The lunch was furnished by the Mill | City G.A.A. Games and races were in charge of Wilma Howe, Betty Cree, Joan John son. Joanne Hoffman. Donna Nelson. Barbara Barton, Luella Mason, Ardith Jones. Paula Van Buskirk and Jane Peterson. Making the name tags and programs were Patricia West, Marlene Verbeck. Marlene Tickle, Hazel Neal. Betsy Kriever, and Arlone Kulhman. Mayday Is Theme For Deanha P.T.A. Dance Grade Party Held Friday Gates Womans Club Social Mrs. Elmer Klutke opened home to members of the Gates Womans club. Thursday afternoon for the social meeting. A no-host luncheon was served at one o’clock. Following the luncheon Mrs. Klutke demonstrated the use of different sewing machine attachments. Those in attendance were Mrs. Lula Collins. Mrs. Wilson Park, Mrs. Edward Chance, Mrs Kay McCarty, Mis. Ace Johnson, Mrs. Flank Saunders, Mrs. Jaura Joaquin, Mrs. George Nelson, Mrs Joe Joaquin, Mrs Floyd Völkel and Mrs. Harold Wilson.
